  • Society expect you to color some grey/white hair growing on.... color or not color, that is the question!?

Today I asked my hairdresser: Why we, women, are always panicking when some grey hair began appearing, why we have to rush to our hairdresser to color it?

Her answer left me thinking. She just said: Because that's what you are expected to do so as a woman.

First time in my 50 years that I realized that there are many things we are expected to do, and more if we are women.

Use makeup, have a stylish haircut, if you need it you must shave your legs, be careful when using the shade of color for your hair: it could not suit you, wear stilettos, fashion cloths and so on.

What is wrong with grey/white hair in women heads? why we have to live according to what others expect us to do? why we are labeled as someone that don't take care of ourselves if we don't color our hair and just let that silver/white hair grow as part of our maturity?

I am not talking about appearing everywhere with dirty clothes or a hair that looks as if a tornado has gone through. I am talking about the "expectations" a society has about women. If you don't comply with them are you going to finish as an outcast?

Will love to know your thoughts (male and female) about this.

    Cheers!

  • My best friend (for 25 years) feel I am dismissing my nationality...?

because I am applying for an Australian citizenship.

When I told her (she lives in Peru and now and then we talk over the phone) that I will apply for an australian citizenship because I have to much to thank to this country and I want to be completely full involved with it, she just said "Oh, ok, so you are dismissing your roots". I felt weird but I know she can't understand my feelings because she never lived outside Peru, and now she feels that I am dismissing my own roots and my people. I tried to explain her that my background, my roots nobody can take them away, I will always be the same, but she just don't understand. And that makes me feel sad. What can I do? What can I tell her so she can understand that someone can be grateful to a country different from your birth one, but that doesn't mean that I am leaving my roots aside?

  • Showers, towels, dirty....?

We all use towels to dry our body after having a shower.

You have a shower = you are clean = you dry with a towel.

Why that towel has to be washed if you haven't put it in contact with something that is not clean?

Once I heard something about the humidity in contact with the cotton of which towels are made... does someone knows about it or can explain that to me?

  • I had an interview last Monday to work in....?

a coffee shop as assistant to food preparation that is my main experience and I really love to do that. They told me that my experience was really good and that they will like someone like me for the job, but they have some other interviews to do and that by friday evening they will be calling all the applicants, regardless if they got the job or not, that they always do that because they don't want the people to be waiting with out knowing if they got the position or not.

Friday evening was last night for me (I'm in Australia) and there was no phone called.

Should I wait some days more and stick to what they said about calling all the applicants to let them know if they got the position or not?

Should I drop it and just try to find another job to applied for?

I will appreciate very much answers from people who are managers of franchises/coffee shops or those who are working directly with recruitment. Thanks a lot!

  • Is the word sorry misused frequently?

I ask this because the other day walking down the street a young lady stumbles and almost fell down, I was just passing near her and I heard she said "Sorry". I asked myself sorry for what? Sorry to whom? To the sidewalk? My husband was putting some dishes in the dishwasher and a glass hit some plates, he suddenly said "Sorry" (sorry to the glass, the plate?). I told him not to worry because I don't think the dishwasher will feel any pain.

I know that to express politeness we say sorry to someone (not something) about any thing we did without mean it. But, has it use gone to far up to the point that now we have to say to convince others "honestly, I am really sorry". I will like to know how many times any of you being alone and making something silly you have said "Sorry".

  • Is making homework using yahoo answers....?

Permitted by teachers and parents? I mean, teachers and/or parents will not care from where you get your homework done? It doesn't matter to them (teachers/parents and or tutors) if you research yourself (in your local library, your knowledge, your own books, etc) or with the help of others as long as you have it done?
