I had an interview last Monday to work in....?

a coffee shop as assistant to food preparation that is my main experience and I really love to do that. They told me that my experience was really good and that they will like someone like me for the job, but they have some other interviews to do and that by friday evening they will be calling all the applicants, regardless if they got the job or not, that they always do that because they don't want the people to be waiting with out knowing if they got the position or not.

Friday evening was last night for me (I'm in Australia) and there was no phone called.

Should I wait some days more and stick to what they said about calling all the applicants to let them know if they got the position or not?

Should I drop it and just try to find another job to applied for?

I will appreciate very much answers from people who are managers of franchises/coffee shops or those who are working directly with recruitment. Thanks a lot!

Update:

thanks to Deannadr... but as I said in my question I am in Australia and what you suggest me is only for Canada and USA residents.

I forgot to put that during the interview we also agree in an hourly pay rate (as we are used here) that is the average for this kind of roles.

You know what they say about "The Squeaky Wheel, gets the Oil" !

You need to call them back and say I was just wondering if you

Go back there and or call them. NOW! I always appreciate and take notice of those that bug me.

I'm not a manager of a coffee shop, but a manager is a manager.

You should always apply at several places. The fact that you haven't received a call could mean many things including, you're too expensive.

Just go apply at different places so you can keep your options open too.
