Hello there! I'm currently in 1st place on the Australian Leaderboard in dance! Yay! And, also a top contributor in dance. I'm mostly focused on dance questions, especially ballet, tap, and hiphop. I'm quite active at the moment, I'm on pretty much everyday at some time, so you'll see me around. Also, to clear some confusion, this is a shared account, the original account is by me, I'm 15 and the most active of me and my sister, she's 13 and the one that just started ballet. Hope that clears stuff up. I hope I help you! x

  • Shakiness from not eating?

    Hi!

I've noticed on a couple occasions that sometimes I develop shakiness in my hands and arms, to the point where they are too weak to hold things properly, or even type.

I live a busy lifestyle and sometimes I don't get around to eating enough, and I was wondering if this has anything to do with it. Can a lack of food cause shakiness?

Thank you so much if you can help!

    ***

I also sometimes get stomach cramps - not hunger pains.

I'm 15 and usually eat 1500 calories at the most, but I exercise very often.

  • Stretches that build all-round flexibility? Prepping for jazz?

    Hi!

So I've done 5 years of hiphop, 3 years of tap and 2 of ballet, and finally decided I should get around to jazz again. (I did it for a short time a couple years ago) I'm 13 years old.

The only thing is, despite my dancing, I'm about as flexible as a brick :/ So my summer holidays are coming up and the end of the year and I was wondering if anyone has any advice or favourite stretches to do over the holidays so I can build my flexibility up for next season? I'm aiming to get my splits the rest of the way down and really focus of back flexibility because I really lack it there.

If you have any advice I'd really appreciate it! Thank you so much if you answer!

  • BRACES - Advice for getting them on and rules/tips?

    Hi :)

So I'm getting braces put on tomorrow (the day before Halloween - lucky me :/) and I was wondering if anybody could give me advice/info about them in general. I'm very protective of my teeth and I do my best to look after them, so I want to go about wearing braces the right way :P

    1. Any advice on what to do before getting them on, when to take pain medication?

    2. Pain - how long does it last on average? What is best for it?

    3. What are some good things to eat while my mouth is sore?

    4. Rules - What are absolute no-no's on what to eat/drink with braces? Are there any other rules I should follow to care for them?

Thank you SO so much if you take the time to answer, I appreciate it greatly!

  • Braces: Foods to eat while your mouth is sore?

    Hi :)

So I'm getting braces on in a couple days and I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions on easy soft foods to eat while my mouth is still sore.

I have an expansion device in my mouth and my mouth hurt kinda bad for 2 weeks afterwards, and I know braces are a lot more painful, so I'm kinda scared :/ - Any tips for preparing for them?

Thank you so SO much if you answer, I really appreciate it!

  • Mouth full of saliva and affecting my speech due to a new plate? Any advice?

I just had an expansion device put in my mouth yesterday, and now my mouth is constantly over flowing with saliva, which I was warned about, but it's really affecting my speech even more than the plate itself.

I was wondering if there's anything I can do to perhaps stop my mouth from salivating so much so I can speak without sounding muffled and constantly choking?

I'm going to a friends house tomorrow and it's going to be very unhelpful having a good time when nobody can understand me.

Thank you so much if you have any advice as it's really appreciated!

  • School dress up day - Any ideas? Teens especially.?

    Hi!

I'm 14 years old and my school has an annual dress-up day with a theme, this year's theme is "when we were young". So you dress up as things from when you were young (like from birth to about 10 years old) A lot of people are dressing up as faeries, the wiggles, hi-five and mickey mouse characters. The problem is, I'm not sure what I want to do?! It needs to be a relatively easy costume, DIY at home. I was thinking queen of hearts, but i'm not sure what to do for the costume.

So, teens especially, what do you remember loving from when you were young? Or, do you have any costume ideas? Nothing inappropriate, this is a private catholic school :P

Thanks so much if you answer!

  • Stuff to do in the car on very long trips? Please help!?

    Hi!

I'm 15, my brother is 12 and my sister is 7, and we're traveling to Karigini in a few days from perth, so we're going to be driving in the car a lot. I'm used to trips that last 4 hours, as I have family that live in the country, but not full day journeys, we'll be driving for 2 days straight.

So I was just wondering if anybody had any games/ ideas on what we can do while in the car, that would be great, keeping in mind out ages. Looking outside the window isn't much of an option because all we'll see is red dirt and dead trees for the most part!

We have some dvd players sorted out, but not much else.

Thanks to anyone who has a suggestion!

  • Tight Achilles in ballet? How can I help loosen them up?

    Hi!

So today in ballet my instructor pointed out that I had very tight Achilles tendons, and that I should work on loosening them up as I have a nice arch. I have heard the stretch of hanging your heels off a step, and I already practice this, but I was wondering if anyone else knew any other stretches I could do to help?

Thanks so much if you answer, I really appreciate it!

  • A few modeling questions?

    Hi! I'm 13 (nearly 14) and 165cm tall currently (5 foot 3).

    I'm interested in modeling and have a few questions;

~What is the minimum height for a model? I'm expected to grow maybe 5-6 more cm, am I too short?

~I'm 50kg, (110 pounds) too fat? Most of it is muscle mass as I swim and dance.

~As for body shape I have very long legs (german background) with a shorter torso, wide hips and not as wide shoulders (not broad), so I am not a petite body type, I'm right in the middle, is this ok?

~Also, any tips on getting started?

Thank you so much if you answer!

  • Is 14 too late to start irish dancing? Please answer ASAP!?

    Hi!

I'm currently 13 (but turning 14 soon) and I'm interested in starting irish dancing. I've always wanted to do it. Anyway, I was just wondering, is it too late for me to start? I don't want to compete or anything, just learn the amazing dance type and have fun! I'm also half irish so it makes sense too!

Thanks you SO much if you answer!

  • How to pick up choreography quicker? (If you can)?

    Hi!

I'm moving up to senior hiphop class, and I was wondering, are there any ways I can pick up choreography quicker? Because they learn dances much quicker, and I think I might get left behind.
