Mouth full of saliva and affecting my speech due to a new plate? Any advice?
I just had an expansion device put in my mouth yesterday, and now my mouth is constantly over flowing with saliva, which I was warned about, but it's really affecting my speech even more than the plate itself.
I was wondering if there's anything I can do to perhaps stop my mouth from salivating so much so I can speak without sounding muffled and constantly choking?
I'm going to a friends house tomorrow and it's going to be very unhelpful having a good time when nobody can understand me.

Hi, I understand how you feel!
For the extra saliva in your mouth produced by the dentures, it can be very helpful to such on some hard candy or lozenges. This allows you to swallow the saliva naturally and helps with clearing up the speech problems.

Water. once you're taking a sip, carry the water on your mouth for some seconds so as that it sinks in to the tongue tissue. Then swallow. that still works for once you're thirsty. retaining water on your mouth shall we your physique sign up which you're 'now no longer thirsty' or that your saliva glands could desire to make extra saliva.
