BRACES - Advice for getting them on and rules/tips?

Hi :)

So I'm getting braces put on in a couple days (the day before Halloween - lucky me :/) and I was wondering if anybody could give me advice/info about them in general. I'm very protective of my teeth and I do my best to look after them, so I want to go about wearing braces the right way :P

1. Any advice on what to do before getting them on, when to take pain medication?

2. Pain - how long does it last on average? What is best for it?

3. What are some good things to eat while my mouth is sore?

4. Rules - What are absolute no-no's on what to eat/drink with braces? Are there any other rules I should follow to care for them?

Thank you SO so much if you take the time to answer, I appreciate it greatly!

x

I've had my braces for over a year now and make sure you have Advil! The first night will be terrible pain cause your teeth are just getting used to it. The next 3/4 days will still be sore but not as bad just annoying, you will probably want to keep wax with you til you get used to the feeling of your braces being in your mouth. Good luck!
