  • Outlook 2003 - closing the program completely?

I have outlook configured to do automatic send receives every so often, which is what i like to do when i am working.

when i am not working, i like to close the program by using the red x in the upper right corner. I have been under the assumption that this closes the program and it will stop sending and receiving emails. I have also tried going to "File/Close"

But, i continues to receive them, and it grabs them from my server before I can get them on my blackberry when i am away from the computer.

Do I have to turn the computer off to get it to stop downloading messags?

  • Firefox text size issues?

i have gone to tools options advance and selected my text size desired and unchecked the 'allow page to choose their own font size'

When i open a page it briefly displays in the text size i want, when the ads all finish loading, it snaps back to tiny text size. I've checked the settings a couple times, restarted firefix etc.

Also, my F11 key does not toggle to full screen view, i have to go up and do it under view menu.

Any ideas what is going on?

  • Avatars - does yours really look like you?

Or did you create one in the way you would LIKE to appear?

PS Mine kind of looks like me, as close as I could get, anyway. It does look nicer than I really do.

  • Answering questions - error message 999?

Whenever I answer a question and include a link in either the answer or the source, when I hit submit (after preview) i get error message 999 (sorry, can't process, try again later, check your firewall, settings etc)

I left one message on preview for the whole day and came back and hit submit and still got the same message. It has been happening since yesterday.

Is it just me? Is something going on in the system? Did some setting on my computer change?

All the links I have been trying to use today have been links to other yahoo questions with appropriate info to answer the question. Usually to a link of the exact same question asked earlier.

  • windows vista- undo driver update?

hello. i have a new acer aspire 4730Z with an ALPS touchpad that was behaving erratically. It is running vista. i went into device manager and right clicked the entry for the touchpad and chose 'update driver' thinking it would find the newest driver and that might help.

It searched for a driver and installed it, i was given no choices along the way. when it was done, that entry in device manager ws no longer called alps touchpad it was called ps/2 compatible mouse.

I no longer have the alps icon in my system tray and no longer have anything but basic functionality of the touchpad, none of the extra features that were available.

how do i undo this update and get the alps driver back?

    Thank you

  • My dog sneezes at me when he is annoyed with me.?

really. If he sneezes once, he wants something that I am not giving to him fast enough -- like i am at the biscuit jar but moving slowly or fumbling. He is saying "Hey, i don't have all day here hurry up"

If he is annoyed - I've pulled the drapes because he is barking at the dog outside, or I've closed the door so he can't run out, or I've just told him to stop doing something he really wanted to do, he sneezes several times in a row, at least 3, up to 5 depending on how annoyed he is.

I know for a fact he is not allergic or anything at al like that do don't worry about his health.

does anyone else's dog do this? He is a poodle mix from the pound, and I can't quite pinpoint when he developed this habit, but it was just about right from the start.

I just wonder if anyone else's dog does this, or what other ways they tell you they are annoyed with you.

  • Why was my question removed?

I posted a question in lawn and garden. It didn't get any answers. It was a pretty specific question, I know that perhaps no one could answer it. But after two weeks it was removed and I did not get a notice or anything that it was being removed. I have seen other questions languish for much longer with no answers. How do they decide when to remove a question?
