4 AnswersCurrent Events1 week agoAre you going to miss Y!A CE?
Petty squabbles about current affairs and political theories like the merits of liberalism vs National Socialism?
Telling strangers how to live their private lives?
Never-ending feuds over something someone said 5 years ago?
The perspicacious Shadow Drone schooling us all on the superiority of the English race and his ongoing quest to be perfected by genetic engineering? All the while being kind enough to educate us about the atrocities of lefties like the shoe-banging incident?
Fret not. Y!A CE is continuing on a superior forum. Join Divisive Babble!https://www.reddit.com/r/Divisive_Babble
9 AnswersCurrent Events1 week agoWas Y!A doomed or could it have been stuck around longer if it was updated properly? ?
A few things ruined this site IMO
Getting rid of the green format everyone loved
Getting rid of comments
Allowing anonymous posts
Inconsistent moderation
Getting rid of the option to filter questions by country.
5 AnswersCurrent Events2 weeks agoWill UKIP still be a relevant political party after 2020?
http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-34565597
The EU referendum is going to be held in 2017, so either way it goes, that will be the end of the matter.
The Tories have took on board many of their further right policies, except immigration of course, Tories have allowed in even more immigration than Labour under Blair and Brown lol..
What will be UKIP's selling pitch after that?

14 AnswersCurrent Events7 years agoAre Yahoo planning to bring back the country filter tabs (ie "UK and Ireland Questions Only")?
Yahoo got rid of the option for you to restrict the questions you can see to be from your own country's Yahoo by clicking a tab a while ago for some unexplained reason, I've read it's only a 'temporary' removal, are they bringing it back or retworking this feature?
Lumping all English speaking questions into one is breaking for many categories on this site.
2 AnswersYahoo Answers7 years agoDo those of you who condemn Halal slaughter by Muslims also equally condemn Kosher/Schlechta slaughter by Jews?
It is mostly the same thing, animals being ritually slaughtered for religious mumbo jumbo purposes.
It's hypocritical to slam one and ignore the other, simply because you like that religion/it's adherents and dislike the others.
As a vegetarian if I'm honest, I think it's hypocritical for any meat eater to whine about any other slaughtering practices when European/UK slaughtering methods are not particularly humane either, and animals are treated appallingly and in enclosed/horrible conditions before slaughter. I.e. factory farming, veal crates, live exports.
Is there genuine concern for animal rights - or is this simply an excuse by some to hate all Muslims?
11 AnswersCurrent Events7 years agoYahoo! Answers: Are Yahoo! having financial problems or something? Is Yahoo Answers going to close down in the near future, or be sold off?
A lot of these recent so called "enhancements" seem to be a desperate way of garnering clicks, users and impressing sponsors, like hiding "irrelevant" answers, getting rid of country-specific filters, giving trolls the "Anonymous" feature to hide behind so they can ask and answer will all kinds of garbage, allowing L7s to move questions, and choosing our section for us.
The only decent change that has come out of this new format seems to be the ability to comment on other people's answers, all the other new features have hindered this site, it seems like just as you're beginning to get used to it, they add another dumb feature or remove something.
Is this site going to be sold off to Google or Facebook, or shut down in the near future or something?
3 AnswersYahoo Answers7 years agoWhat is the American Libertarian view on abortion?
I understand, that unlike American social conservatives/Republicans, they're more socially liberal, so they don't mind marijuana and homosexuality, but what is their general view on abortion - or at least the right of women to seek an abortion?
6 AnswersPolitics7 years agoWhy have most of the world's religions tried to control sexuality throughout history and even today?
Male homosexuality in particular has always been condemned by most major religions, all three Abrahamic faiths included
They have all tried to control women and their sexuality, forcing them to cover up most (or all!) of their bodies in clothing and being chaste, Orthodox Judaism and Islam still this today, Ireland still bans women from having abortions and RC Ireland used to incarcerate women in Magdalene Laundries for religious crimes like being ultra attractive or having sex before marriage in as late as the 1960's and 1970's.
Men are encouraged to be chaste too, but not to the same extent, polygamy is permitted in Islam and Mormonism, but men holding religious positions like Catholic Priest are supposed to be virgins and remain celibate.
Religion also inspired anti-sodomy and other ridiculous laws across, making anal sex, oral sex and even masturbation illegal.

5 AnswersIsrael7 years agoIs there a way to set your Yahoo Answers to country-specific questions only anymore?
I'm using Yahoo Answers UK and I'd prefer to see UK only questions on some certain sections such as Politics and Current Events. Is this possible anymore since they've removed the UK/Ireland Questions only filter, or is there any updates coming to fix this issue?
4 AnswersYahoo Answers7 years agoDo the Far-Right have more in common with extremist Islam than they'd like to admit?
Sharia law (that thing apparently taking us all over, you know?) promotes the same kind of "eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" barbaric judicial punishments that the far-Right would like to introduce to Britain, starting with the return of capital punishment.
Both ideologies believe in strict adherence to "gender roles" and hate feminism
A woman's place is the home, with the kids, barefoot and pregnant, cleaning behind the fridge and cooking dinner.
They're both staunchly anti-homosexual, and quite obviously racist, they don't want "outsiders" near them.
There are other parallels that could be drawn - but isn't it strange how much the far Right claims to hate Islam so much, citing these reasons?
11 AnswersCurrent Events7 years agoDo you agree with Nigel Farage that the ban on handguns in the UK should be lifted?
http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/jan/24/ni...
They were banned after the Dunblane massacre, some would say it was in haste, others would say it was justified.
I can only think of a very few people, outside the police and armed forces, who would have a legitimate reason to have a handgun, like Olympic pistol shooters and similar.
