what do shipping routes between the UK and USA look like?

I admit I'm kind of a nerd when it comes to domestic shipping routes in the USA, when I order a package I like trying to guess what hubs it will go through and testing which routes would be more effective. I recently purchased a package From the UK and they failed to provide me with the tracking info on top of that the package is scheduled to arrive in roughly two weeks. is this a normal amount of time for the distance, and because of the length of time would it be safe to assume my package is currently on a cargo ship? if you have any info on how different packages are shipped between the USA and UK that would be greatly appreciated any information would be nice this is just something I was curious about and wanted to learn more.

Are there any states that do not have covid restrictions?

    Favourite answer:

Yes, Alaska has removed restrictions and replaced them with advisories. Some other states have cut them significantly and Texas has left it up to businesses . Many states plan to further relax restrictions in April.

Will getting a passport be worth it?

    Favourite answer:

I was born overseas and have funky birth certificates.  I've had a passport since I was very young, and because of those funky birth certificates, I NEVER let it expire.  I travel more than most people, so it's necessary for me.  That said, I think there's something very romantic about having a passport.  It's like a ticket to the world. Maybe you don't plan on flying to France next week, but if you have a passport, you could.

You should also find out if your state is a "real ID" state.  Mine isn't, so I use my passport, even when I'm flying domestically.

Why have I never been stopped by the TSA for carrying on a lighter? ?

I’m a smoker, and have flown many, many times since I started and every single time I have had a lighter in my pocket and sent it down with my stuff. I thought they are prohibited and are on the big board telling you what you can’t bring on.

If that’s true, then how have I boarded every single flight with a lighter in my pocket (not in checked baggage although I always have another one in my suitcase), sent down the X-ray, go through the metal detector, and collect it after. Why is this allows? Is it certain circumstances? Do they make an exception when seeing my pack with the lighter?

Will my airline charge me extra for one overweight checked bag? ?

I am traveling out of the country soon. My airline says I'm allowed 1 carry on and 2 free checked bags.

For simplicity, I chose to travel with a carry on and one large suitcase. My large suitcase, my checked bag, is definitely overweight. I stuffed as much possible in it.

Will I be charged for it being overweight? Since I am only traveling with one carry on and one checked bag?

Camping tips or needs to know? Please ?

    Favourite answer:

Ice chest, lots of ice. Camp by lakes to wash dishes. I camped in rocky areas and used railroad spikes for tent pegs. Lots of dos and don'ts. Your children must understand it ain't gonna be homelife. Expect complaints... the one year old, though needing a lot of attention, will take it all in stride. Be adults, keep your cool, DON'T LET ANYTHING BOTHER YOU, and it will help the children avoid melting down as well. Prepare the family for the trials and travails of life on the toad as you plan.

How does TSA know which bags will be checked and which will be carry on?

    Favourite answer:

TSA doesn't know. That is determined when you reach the ticket counter for your airline at the airport.

For your carry-on baggage, you take it with you to the security checkpoint where it is screened. Bags selected for an inspection is pulled from the line and sent to an inspection station. Once the inspection is complete it is returned to you.

For your checked baggage at most airports, the airline agents will place a bag tag on baggage and place it on a conveyor system. The conveyor system will transport the baggage where it is automatically loaded into the x-ray system and unloaded back to the conveyor. Bags selected for inspection is re-routed to an inspection station. Once the inspection is complete it is returned to the conveyor system.

If a package was sent off from Peru to California, yet its a 9 hour flight then why does it take 2 weeks to arrive to California?

    Favourite answer:

Because it doesn't go directly to the destination. +It has to clear customs before it can be delivered and that can take a lot of time.

Can you wear spikes/studded clothes and jewelry on a plane?

Like on a jacket, bracelets, a choker, etc. Can you bring them in a carry-on bag (Overhead luggage or an under-seat backpack)?

How many laptops can bring in checked luggage?

How many laptops can you bring through checked-in luggage if they are for donations? Does it depend on the airlines and/or country’s customs rules? As far as I know there isn’t actually a limitation on quantity for flights, checked-in or carry-on.

How much will a UHaul out of California cost next week?

    Favourite answer:

The general pricing from U-Haul makes it roughly 10 x more expensive to drive a truck out of California then to drive one into the state. So 2K to rent a truck in CA to drive to TX, $200 to rent a truck in TX and drive to CA. Pretty soon they'll be paying you if you're wiling to bring a U-Haul vehicle to the Golden State.
