  • What's worse: the Spanish flu pandemic or the COVID-19 pandemic?

I think, at this point, people are beginning to understand that having a healthy lifestyle will not save you from the virus, but will only strengthen the immune system and lessen the severity of producing symptoms. I'm just wondering if the Spanish flu was much worse than COVID-19 because, back then, there were no medical treatments aside from vaccines. I don't understand why the current pace of vaccinations are very slow, but it couldn't have been bad as compared back then, right? I've following the news ever since the pandemic started, and a lot of antiviral drugs were recommended, like hydroxychloroquine, remdesivir, dexamethasone, and then ivermectin. Do you think this pandemic is worse, as compared back then when there were no drugs to treat patients? Again, I'm talking about medical treatments, not vaccines, just to put things into perspective.

  • Should I get tested again for COVID-19?

I think that, as long as they don't fix the rollout of vaccines, I'll have to do regular testing. I've already tested negative the first time. It costs around $40 in my country. I don't know if it's sustainable or a good idea since I might have to spend $40 a month to make sure I don't have it, plus the fact that the hospitals right now are very under pressure. Do you think I should get tested again?

  • Should I stop masturbating for a while?

I know this is an awkward question to ask, but I see several studies that masturbation is safe and healthy. I just want to know if there are any side-effects down the road. I know that it can be bad habit because of addiction, but I'm talking about physical over mental health. Is it healthy to masturbate, in terms of physical health?

  • How to relax during the pandemic?

I keep on freaking out, my anxiety has heightened, and now I'm so paranoid. I've recently tested negative for COVID-19, but I'm still concerned because I know that you can still be infected if you've been exposed to someone who has it. I'm just mentally exhausted of the news, and I just wish this era of medical misinformation would end. I've recently done telemedicine because there was blood in my stools, and that alone made me paranoid that, maybe, I have COVID-19.

How can I relax amid all this mass hysteria? Should I do meditation? How can I relax during this pandemic and all the medical misinformation? I'm just really tired, and the fear of not knowing is so great in me. Even getting a fever freaks me out because the news keeps on repeating that every little symptom means that you have COVID-19.

I'm planning to move to a new place soon, so do you think it's wise to purchase a portable aircon instead of installing one?

  • What's the difference between using pocket Wi-Fi and mobile hotspot?

I have a pocket Wi-Fi with a SIM card to connect my devices to the internet. What's the difference if I insert this SIM card into my smartphone, use 4G, then make into mobile hotspot? I use Bluetooth to connect my devices (like laptop) to my smartphone and then use the internet. But I'd like to know if there is any difference between pocket Wi-Fi and mobile hotspot.

  • Can anybody tell me the difference of distilled, purified and filtered water?

I've asked a similar question about this, but more on killing pathogens microorganisms by boiling tap water. Some say to purify the water. Others say to filter it. But, honestly, I don't understand these terms. And then there's also distilled water.

Additionally, what is the difference between a water dispenser and a water purifier? At the end of the day, I would want to save more on money by not having to constantly buy water from the grocery. Also, I value health, so I'd like to have clean water, as much as possible, for safe drinking.

  • How many aircon units should I purchase?

So, my place has a living room and two bedrooms. I was thinking of just purchasing just one aircon unit since I'm living just by myself. I already have an electric fan, and I'm planning to install the aircon unit in the living room. Or, would you think I should purchase two more units for two of the bedrooms?

  • Is it better to buy purified water or boil tap water?

I was wondering if it would be better to boil tap water instead of buying purified water. Obviously, it would be cheaper to boil it, but the problem is I'm not so sure if it safe to drink boiled tap water. Which is better?

  • If lockdowns curb the spread of the virus by promoting social distancing, then why are cases still rising?

It's been more than a year with this pandemic, and, at this point, it feels like I'm losing so many brain cells just watching the news. If lockdowns curb the spread of the virus, then why are cases still rising? If everyone's forced to stay at home and nobody's out, then the virus can't find any host to infect, especially if you're in a public place. It just doesn't make any sense to me that cases are rising even though everyone's at home, or is it because the news continuously uses scare tactics for the general populace? One thing I hate about Yahoo! Answers sometimes is the trolls, so sensible comments are welcome and, if you make a stupid comment with no logic, I'll just ignore you and socially (and mentally) distance myself from you. I don't need to lose more brain cells.

  • How can I optimize the use of my mobile Internet?

I have a dual SIM card, and my Samsung phone is 4G. I don't know anything about the Internet or computer science, but I just want to know how I can optimize my mobile data usage. SIM 1 has used up around 40 GB of data and is really fast. SIM 2 has used up around 40 MB of data and is really slow. I don't understand why SIM 2 is really slow even though I've obviously used up less data than from SIM 1. At the end of the day, I'm paying for both plans, so how can I optimize my mobile data usage?

  • Why do I need to get vaccinated for COVID-19?

I'm not an anti-vaxxer, and I believe in the science of vaccines. But I have never taken a vaccine in my life, so why should I be vaccinated for COVID-19? I've never taken a flu vaccine. There was also a controversial vaccine called Dengvaxia against dengue fever in which it was administered to Filipino children, and they died after vaccination, although I'm not really sure if it's misinformation by the government authorities at that time. I'm just curious why it is important to take a COVID-19 vaccine if I've never been injected by any other vaccine in my life. If I get vaccinated for COVID-19, should I get vaccinated also for the flu, or any other type of disease?

  • If it's dangerous to eat in restaurants right now, does that mean the same for hair salons and gyms?

So, if COVID-19 spreads in enclosed spaces through aerosolized particles from other people breathing them out, does that mean I should avoid hair salons and gyms for the meantime? Plus the fact that not everyone will wear a mask is what worries me. I guess this is what defines what an essential business is, because restaurants, hair salons and gyms are considered leisure activities, because these days, all I do when I go out is go to the groceries, pharmacies and convenience stores where you just buy and leave the place immediately.
