  • How do you make a desk higher?

    Hello there

unfortunatley ive got a desk which is quite low

i needed a good desk because the old has a bee shelf [dont know how to say it in english but it has like a big shelf conected with categorized boards etc] which makes you look down if you need to use the computer and you cannot get the monitor higher in the height which is needed

on the other hand the new desk has free space above the computer so i can get it in a high enough place needed but the desk is a few cms lower [3-5], i do understand in might sound a little silly but for the hands feeling is quite a difference , in the old one you could use it for hours and handwise doesnt hurt or anything but on the new one every hour spent on the computer makes the pinky and the the finger next to it [dunno how to say it in english, anyway the one between the pinky and the middle finger] quite numb while holding stuff ,i  know there is this carpell tunnel syndrom and i dont want any syndroms for using the computer

wanted to know if there is any patent or anything to make it higher surface for using the computer desk, btw the desk is like one wood board placed on two wood board [i mean by the way its placed and drilled together]

and i do wanted to know if you got a good idea because i have and ideal chair whic is quite high and if i use the computer i need my hands to be quite streched to lay streched on the desk paralel to it [

  • Is there a way to sit fully straight in front of computer?

Hello there i wanted to ask a question

i used to have my computer and monitor placed on a desk in my bedroom in the house and there was a problem using it because that to use it it was needed to bend down to look at the computer and it cannot be raised with books because there is a shelf above it that blocks me from rising it higher

and i moved it to another place desk but after rising it its feels like the hole body leans to the side of the arm that you are using [unless your hands are placed only at the edge of the desk which isnt so comfterable, meaning you cannot rest your hands on the desk]

sorry if this sounds a bit silly because i wanted to know if there is an ergonomics manual or something that shows how people that use the computer without hurting themselves on a long run because ive saw that most sites that speak about ergonomics tell that the top of the monitor should be at eye level but i found it does cause the person to become bent a little if you need to look at a middle of a big screen which makes you need to bend yourself for that

  • Is it ok to wash 40 degrees clothes on 30 degrees?

    Hello there

i have many white shirts and clothes that on their washing instructions says to wash on 40 degrees and some that require 30 degrees

but i dont have enough of each to fill a full washing machine

is it ok to fill both 40 degrees and 30 degrees clothes in a 20 degrees washing machine? [my washing machine has 20 diferences between heat options ,for example 20 40 60 degrees etc]

im asking this because ive realised that putting white shirts without squizing the water option [lets say instead of 1000 circles , if i put 800 circles or 400 options] out of the clothes . it makes them large like a table cloth

anyway wanted to know if it is ok about the degrees thingy to mix the clothes in the same washing machine

  • How to place the monitor and use the computer ergonomicly?

    Hello there

ime using the computer to play games and lately ive stacked a pile of books below the monitor in a way that the middle screen of the monitor is pretty much at eye level so i dont need to look down and be hunched to see the info on the screen

the problem with this that im experiencing the whenever i move the mouse [i mostly use the mouse] all my upper body leans to the right , and it feels like my neck is also leaning to the right while doing it , and in fact i can feel it after using the computer that im walking balanced a bit to the right after this [sounds a bit funny but yes]

this problem doesnt happend when i put the top of the monitor at eye level but this isnt an ideal choice neither because lets say when im sitting naturally i see the top of the monitor and the screen pretty big so i do need to look down and bend the neck to see the middle of the screen.

    and good advice for this?

and another question when im using the computer my desk is a little bit higher above my elbows and anyway my hand pretty much hurt after using the computer do you know how to stop this pain

and another question is it ok the use the mouse and keyboard while hand are leaning at the edge of the desk?

  • How to sit properly infront of of a lifted monitor?

    Hello there

ive asked some question on how to place the monitor best for ergonomics [meaning in height]

anyway i wanted to ask how to fix this problem i have placed some books below my monitor so i dont have to bend down looking at it

the problem that acours when i do it that when i lean back on the chair and use the mouse all my upper body tends to lean to the right side , which is very anoyying after that and makes very uncomftorable posture late on

it went that far that i have 2 swivel chairs that if you sit on them they got a little bent to the right from that

wanted to know if anybody knows what should i do to stop it because using the monitor at top of screen at eye level doesnt cause this problem of leaning but causes me to look down and isnt so comfterable after all after all

  • How to place computer monitor good?

Hello there i wanted to ask a question

how do i place the computer monitor good ergonomicly in a way that doesnt ruin the back and neck

once ive got a new chair which is pretty high i have got this problem ,if i place the top of the screen at eye level i need to look down at the middle of the screen and the bottom

i have a IPS LED 24MP76 monitor which is pretty big for a monitor and i dont like to act all akward and stuff but i get a little neck pain from looking down the screen for so much and it doesnt feel so comfterable after all craning the neck when using the computer

on the other hand placing a few books under the screen which causes the middle screen to be at eye level feels realy nice for using [at least thats how it feels for the back and i dont need to crane my head down to look at the screen]

but the problem is that it makes you to lean to the direction of the hand you are using [at least thats how i experience this] , like if im using the mouse for a long time while doing this it causes all the upper body to lean to the right side [same thing while using the keyboard]

just wanted to hear some of you people how you place your monitors because ive saw once a video of some ergonomic doctor or something like this that unlike most of the ergonomic sites says that when you place the top of the screen at eye level you make yourself to bend your necks and reach an uncomfterable position afterwards , and its good to make middle of the monitor at eye level.

  • Does anybody know what to do with this?

Hello there i have 2 questions for the using the computer

im having this problem while using the PC for a long time

a few years ago i used to have this computer desk for the computer and used it pretty good untill ive brought a new high chair which was pretty much a pain to look down at the computer and ive couldnt raise up the monitor because it had a shelf above it

ive brought a new desk place and using it for some reason give me a problem with my nerves in my arms,i have some chores like dishwashing etc anyway after using it causes my hands to feel somewhat  pretty numb and its hard for me to hold stuff up

another problem with using the computer i like putting books under the monitor so i dont have to bend down my neck,i have been suffering after using the monitor when placed on a desk regulary after one hour i feel much less comfterable sitting on my tailbone in a weird position and bending my neck down and some breathing problems com with that

the problem that comes with raising the bottom-middle screen at eye level that is that it causes my whole upper body to lean towards the hand that im using [which means] lets say im using only the right hand on mouse to surfe on the internet or on fps games its pretty weird to say but my head and upper troso leans to the right after that [much feels like it]

pretty much sounds weird if i put it that way but ive been experiencing this for much for a year and stopped playing or using the computer much because of this.

  • How high should my monitor be for people who use the computer a lot?

    Hello there

im sorry if this question is a bit wierd and for the bad spelling if there is ive asked the same question just wanted to know what is the best to do in this situation

i wanted to know what is the best height that the monitor for a computer should be

because the optimal settings that are told in the most ergonomics sites that the top of the screen should be at or below eye level for computer users

but the problem with this is that the user needs to look down at the center of the screen which isnt so comterable and causes this hunchback posture if stayed for to much

so the best solution that ive heard for this is to use books to make the monitor go higher so the middle of the screen will be at eye level

now the good thing for this is that is much more comfterable that sitting  bent down like the ergonomics sites says but it causes another problem and you can check it yourself that after some period of time if lets say you use the mouse with your right hand slowly the upper boddy tends to lean to that position meaning to the right

i wanted to know if anybody knows a good solution for this problem because ive been away not using the computer just because of this problem, bending to the computer makes the neck hurt after using it after a couple of uses and makes a hunchback posture  , yet puting books under the moniter to make it be higher and more lookable makes a problem that all the upper body is leaned to the right after a peroid of time

    any solution for this?

  • What is the best monitor height ?

    Hello there

im having a problem for quite a long time and i would like a good advice what to do or what you do

im pretty used to play on games on the computer and i quite dont know what is the best heiight to put the monitor

in most of the internet ergonomic sites they say that the top of the monitor should be at eye level , and i quite dont get if this really should be don because if the screen is big and you are most of the time bending down to look at the middle - bottom of the screen it causes your neck to be bended down and probably a hunchback

and if you raise the screen with books below it that the middle - bottom of the monitor at eye level so its comfterable to look the the computer monitor and not a pain to use the computer [and to not get an eldery mans neck] there is this problem that will accoure [and try it] at least when i use it that the upper back and neck leans to the side of the hand you are using

so lets say you use only your right hand on the mouse and the monitor is kind of high so you dont need to bend down to look at it the body leans to the side of the hand that you are using the most [at least thats what i feel when playing FPS games]

sorry if this sounds a little wiered just for a long time i wanted to know if anybody can give a good advice how to place the computer because ive tried puting books below it and ive got this wiered leaning to the right feeling when using the monitor high and the top screen at eye level makes me bend uncomfterably

im sorry for my bad english

im having a problelm lately getting to sit comfy next to the computer

i ussaly used to play on it untill i got a good chair that is quite high

i feel like the finger and ring hands become like numby and i cant use the computer without getting my hands getting strained feeling
