As smartphone cameras become better, fewer people are buying traditional cameras.  According to an article by Harvey Lloyed, the average American citizen no longer has film developed at a photo-processing store. Digital images are now the norm, with millions of people using photo-sharing sites which is still the number one social site. 

What aspects of daily-life might we take into consideration when we define the word racist?

From a sociological point of view, what are the consequences of this displacement for refugees and their families?

Are your close friends similar to yourself in terms of race and/or ethnicity? Explain why this may or may not be the case. Might race or ethnicity be an unconscious consideration in choosing friendships?

The Franks viewed themselves as protectors of the papacy and offered the popes both political and military support, which is why the Crusades happened. The reason for them and why they lasted from 1095-1492 was for the diffusion of the Christian religion. Behind almost all wars, the main goal would be expansion, and with the crusades, the same thing was happening. The reason for the focus on Syria and Palestine would be because of the conclusion on the behalf of the crusaders that the Byzantium emperors was supporting the Muslims against them. The Byzantium kingdom was also seen as “an obstacle to the successful recovery of Jerusalem,” (pg 283). Out of the Seljuk Turks, Fatimids, Byzantines, the Jewish people and the Frankish crusaders, the crusaders claims are the least legitimate. This is because all 3 universal religions stem from one another, so for any religion to come into and cry to have singular claims to the land is wrong.

What you think?The black death was one of the deadliest diseases during the 1330s and the 1340s. It was known to spread from Mongolia to China, northern India, and western Asia and it was known to spread through the trade routes. These trade routes were apart of the spread and it was even carried through the black sea where it was carried to Sicily and North Africa and even northern Italy. This disease was so deadly that it is known around 40 to 70 percent of the populations from these areas were dead. We have heard about how with the bubonic plague, the diseas was carried through fleas which were found on rats, hamsters, dogs, etc. This disease strongly impacted European society because over half of Europes population had died. There were several social and economic consequences like crops rotting and trade eventually haulting. Certain cities became victims of outbreaks of violence that were caused by overcrowed and not sanitary causing people to be at a higher risk of infection. This disease in particular changed the course of life for many people in Europe. It caused people to think more about how to protect one another from any future pandemics and how to better prepare themselves for something like this in the future. If we look at the world today and the current pandemic we are living in, we are focused on trying to protect one another by wearing masks and forming better sanitation within public places. We are also aiming our focus at trying to find a cure for COVID-19

Black Death was caused by a bacteria called Yersinia petis. This microbe can be manifested and contracted in many ways such as bubonic plaque, septicemic plaque, and pneumonic plaque. It is said that the Great Famine paved way for Black Death due to the weakened population. Black Death spread quickly due to the connective channels use for trading, it effected the seaports and eventually inland by travelers. The connective channels use for trading was the main cause for it to spread rapidly thought Western Europe. In Europe, Black Death effected entire villages which most disappeared at the end of 1353. Cities and towns that were overcrowded and unsanitary were prone to this plaque. It effected Europe’s crops, manufactures, and trade which brought severe economy consequences. It also brought an unstable political situation. Europe was affected till the eighteen century since it continued to erupt in local epidemics. In the space of a few decades it cause 40 to 70 percent of people to die in these effected areas. Black Death change history because it cause some to break faith, brought violence, and economical challenges through many countries

According to chapter 2 in the article, Judaism is a religion which is credited for being the first monotheistic religion, is a religion that only believes in one God and has no connection to any political system or territory. According to Judaism, no other god is worshiped. Zoroastrianism on the other hand is a religion along with Buddhism and Judaism is one of the three major universal faiths before Christianity and Islam. The founder of the religion was a man named Zarathustra wanted to redifine the religion as an ethical practice to all people according to the article. Zarathustra was also a Persian. As I stated before, Judasim claims to be the first monothestic religion and I agree with that statement. The religion had no political backing and only worshiped one God

Judaism and Zoroastrianism both "pioneered the development of authoritative written scriptures that advance religious teachings". Both religions belief in a single god but were used differently. Judaism belief in one god name Yahweh and Zoroastrianism belied in one god name Ahura-Mazda. Zoroastrianism was the driving spiritual force behind the Persian Empire. Judaism was "forged to resist Imperialism of the Neo-Assyrians and Chaldeans".Judaism was not tied to any particular political system or territory which influence many future civilizations. I think it is accurate to say that Judaism was the first monotheistic religion even though early Hebrews worshiped many gods before turning monotheism. The literacy of Levites helped promote the worship of Yahweh as well as David's Dynasty. With the use of written we can trace back to Judaism first beginnings.
