Turks think they are white and we are black

    I'm guessing what you mean by Turkish is Azeri people. Most Americans have no idea about the situation in Iran, nor do they even know the existence of Azeri people. To them, Iran equals to Persians. Most Americans might be surprised to learn that Iran has a sizable number of Turkic population.
