Likit??? Which does your horse prefer?

I have been thinking of getting my 9yo arab gelding a likit of some sort, but I am unsure of which.

Those who have used them, which Likit product would you recommend? How quickly did your horse take to them? How hard wearing are they if left outside in the sun and the rain and the wind? How long do they last before you need a refill?

All recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Hi, my Arabian gelding adores likits. He does not lick them, he bites them and they are usually gone over night. (We don't get them for him this often due to this). He used to have the likit ball on the wall which moved as you touch it, he got frustrated (and I would too) as it was difficult to eat! Then he had the likit hanger with the one big likit and 2 small ones (I'm not sure where it went in the end). NOW he has just the likit hanger with the big one in.

He just loves Cherry flavour, and also apple flavour. I got him Gingerbread flavour a week ago and to my surprise it's still there (going down very slowly day by day) so I guess that's not most popular with him. ;)

I have had them out during the summer when they lived out and they lasted pretty well. Haven't tried in the wind and rain as in weather like that he comes in over night and would have it in there!

Source(s): Own 3 arabs, my mare also has them but doesnt have the hanger anymore lol.

My horse eats Likits like candy. He does NOT lick them, but chews them up as soon as I hang them up, so I've stopped giving him any. He didn't show any preference, but loved them all. They do make a salt-only Likit, but buying a traditional salt block is cheaper, so I just do that.

I bought my horse one of the refills and he used it as a chew top, biting into it and eating it. I hung it up in his stable so he only got to use it when he was stabled at night. It only lasted two days hung up but he loved it!

I then put the broken pieces in his feed bin and he ate those too. I think he enjoyed chasing the pieces around his feed bin.
