Funny qtn, But Do you think some kids are naturally evil?

Question

I have always thought kids are innocent, they just do silly things sometimes, but Im starting to think otherwise. I just had a little girl at the shopping centre, who was about 5 purposely hit my 2.5 yr old in the head with a swinging gate (at the checkout). Now I know kids will do this stuff, but this one seemed to have no remorse, and was really satisfied. Most kids will know this is wrong and you can see the guilt on their face or that they know what theyve done and be sorry etc, but this one just stared at my daughter like she wanted to kill her or something. The mother told her off but as they walked away the kid then stared at me with evil eyes so to speak. It just felt like pure evil. Have you ever met a child like this? Or what could be up with this child?? She didnt seem silly, was quite on to it. Is there a diagnosis for kids that may explain it, I may just have to accept that there are kids who are naturally evil out there.

Yeah I felt for the mum. She tried to make her say sorry, but the child just stared. Id like to think kids will grow out of this stuff...

YES! Everyone thinks all kids are innocent, but I have met some evil kids. It's not always the parents' faults, either. I have met some families where most of the kids are sweet, and there is one bad apple. Hopefully, most of the kids will outgrow their naughty ways, but some don't. There are bad people in the world, and many start out as bad kids.

I knew kids, when growing up, who were just plain old meanies. They enjoyed pulling the dog's tail, locking the cat in the closet, making babies cry, smashing their sister's sand castle...just mean kids! I hate to say it, but some of them are wildly successful adults (business executives, etc.). One of the meanest kids I knew grew up to be a police officer!

This kind of child was 50% the reason my marriage failed. I wouldn't take the abuse of my then husband's 3 yr old girl. She was just plain mean, and malicious. But it was only toward other children, not adults. She would bite, hit, scratch, throw hard toys at and simply just terrorize my children and the neighborhood children. And I hate saying this about a 3 yr old, but she would just have this look of sheer pleasure on her face while being mean to other kids. Now she's 9, and when I drop my daughter off at my ex's, that child will just stare out the window with that same look on her face. I cant explain it, I hate saying it, but I think she's a sociopath.

Sounds like that kid has ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder). A lot of kids possess symptoms of ODD as toddlers, but can exhibit signs up through adolescence. Some grow up and grow out of their horrible behaviors and some continue and need evaluation or help before it is too late.

I would like to think the child will grow out of her behaviors, and not grow up to be a sociopath! A child cannot be diagnosed as a sociopath, but that is exactly what that little girl sounds like she is destined to be if her parents do not address her problems!

She has probably gotten away with such a thing before. she may know its wrong but if she knows she wont get im trouble why would she care. Children are not born evil certain things make them feel like they have to act out. Maybe for attention or maybe because she is bullied she found someone smaller to pick on the possibilities are endless.

i dont know but as a mom i would have been really upset.  even if someone looks at my baby in the wrong way, i get upset let alone hit her.
