  • What is causing the muffled, high-pitched tone coming from the rear of my 99 Dodge Stratus?

Yesterday when I turned my car on, there was a quiet, dull tone coming from the rear of my 99 Dodge Stratus. It gets the loudest when you listen near the rear wheels.

It sounds like a quiet tornado siren; just a constant, dull tone.

I just moved from a high altitude town in Colorado (4900 feet) to Las Vegas, where it's been 100 degrees for the past week. Perhaps it's the heat?

    I just reached 150,000 miles.

  • How long should a tooth be sore after bumping it?

I fell off of my bike and hit my face. I chipped an incisor and bumped my front tooth. I had the chip looked at and rounded out today, and I asked the dentist if I should be worried that my front tooth is still sore. He said he thought it would probably heal, but to come back if it gets worse and before it changes color.

My accident happened four days ago, though, and I'm still worried about it being sore. I've never been to this dentist before and it seemed like kind of a cheap place. How long should it be sore? Should I see another dentist now, or wait?

  • Repair a 99 Dodge Stratus rear bumper cover?

How difficult do you think it would be to repair/replace a '99 Dodge Stratus rear bumper cover? There is only a little damage to the current bumper, but it seems that I can't get it to snap back into place. Are there special plastic clips that I can buy that will help reattach it?

Any advice and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • How to install window air conditioner in a casement window?

We have a regular (horizontal) window air conditioner that we bought last summer for a casement window. Last summer, we got it properly supported from the bottom with two of these:

    http://a-1-appliance-parts.amazonwebstore.com/B000...

Then we tried to fill the "hole" in between the top of the air conditioner and the top of the window. The hole is around 22 to 24" square. We got a piece of plexiglass cut exactly to that, and then tried to use foam weather stripping to secure the plexiglass. This worked until the wind would blow, and the plexiglass would bend slightly at the middle, letting insects and hot air in.

We took the a/c down to the basement this winter and we're ready to try and install it again for this summer. Does anyone have any better suggestions as far as keeping the insects out?

    Two things you should know:

    1) It doesn't have to be attractive--it's just a window that faces our backyard.

    2) It cannot be permanent. It's a rental duplex.

  • What's causing my 1999 Dodge Stratus's radiator fluid to slowly disappear?

I have a 2.4L 1999 Dodge Stratus that hasn't caused me one problem since I've owned it for the past five years. It has 130,000 miles on it.

Recently, I got the oil changed and all of the fluids looked at. About a week after the oil change, I noticed my heat wasn't working. I popped the hood and noticed that there wasn't any radiator fluid in the reservoir or the radiator itself. So, I put some in. The heat worked great for about a week, including on a 1000-mile trip over Christmas.

Then the fluid was mysteriously gone. I have checked for puddles underneath the car almost everywhere I go, and have never found any! Where is it going?

My dad suggested to put stop leak in the radiator but I'm concerned that that will cause a clog or something--and why put "stop leak" in if it's not "leaking"?

My fiance thinks we should get it pressure tested and the radiator flushed--but I'm concerned about the cost of all that.

I'm wondering if it's just the thermostat or a bad cap?
