  • Problem adding music to iTunes!?

I'm trying to add music to my iTunes library from my iMac's hard drive. It was going fine for a while when I was adding my Ministry of Sounds albums but once I added a mixed folder it doesn't show up on the main "Music" playlist. the music has been copied into the iTunes music folder in Finder so i had a look around and it shows up in the Recently Added playlist in iTunes but nowhere else. Now when i try and add other folders including ones i've already added before i get the same result. what now?

  • Looking to modify and build an MTX designed enclosure?

I have an incredibly small boot in my 95 lancer coupe, well relatively small compared to the drivers i'm running in there. Right now i have two 12" MTX 8500 dual voice coil subs in a dual sealed enclosure box (the two subs are separated by an airtight baffle in the box). The box have been made to MTX's specs and barely fits in the boot of my car. In fact i have to put in in 3 stages. first the box, then the front baffle then the two subs...a painstaking process that i have carried out countless times.

Now it's been a while since i have had my subs running as my car was off the road for about 6 months and during that time i took it all out and tried to sell them. with no luck...simply because i couldn't let them go. now the car is on the road and i've got some motivation from buying a new pair of splits to throw everything back in again. But i'm wanting to build the ported box design that MTX recommends. this is all well and good but there is no way that it will fit in the boot. what i was thinking is to invert the cone so it is facing out so it doesn't take up air volume and in turn making the dimensions of the box smaller (it's the width and height of the box i'm concerned with. not the depth.) i'm wondering how this would affect the design of the port and what measurements i should change to achieve the same results as the recommended box would have.

    Cheers

the link to my subs tech data reports are on this page http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/subwoofers/t8... it's the T8512-44 link.

  • Question regarding the audio output wires on a old-school turntable.?

My friend has got an old school turntable a while back and has just recently tried to play a couple of albums on it. The trouble is that when we plug the Red and White rca's into his TV the music from the TV's speakers is barely audible even when we turn it up to max volume.

There are three wires that come out of the back of the turn-table: One Red RCA, one White RCA and one wire with a forked terminal on the end of it. My question is what is this forked terminal for? And is it the reason why the music is so soft?

    Thanks,

    Ben.

  • Alternater size for new system?

I am wanting to buy a new alternator for my car as i think i may have passed my current ones capacity. This is my system:

    2 x mono-bloc amplifier 1000wrms each @ 1ohm - both will be driven at 1ohm. Both require an external 100A fuse.

    2 x 4ch amplifier 100wrms per channel @ 4ohm Both require two 25A fuses each.

I have already upgraded my "Big 3" and a Optima Yellow Top is also on the cards in the near future. Currently i have a stock alternator pushing 60Ah so I'm having to limit my systems potential until I get this new alternator, and we can't have that!

So if anyone knows what size alternator I need give me a holla.

Oh and if you could tell me how you came to your conclusion could you let me know that as well. I would like to know for next time.

    Cheers

  • How would I wire two mono-bloc amplifiers to the head unit?

I'm looking for the least lossy way to wire up these amplifiers with the RCA cables. there is only one RCA cable dedicated to the subwoofers coming out of my head-unit and I am trying to avoid the use of RCA splitters. Thanks in advance.

  • Subwoofer chambers sealed off or Combined?

I am currently building a basic sealed subwoofer box for 2 MTX 8512 - 44's. I am wondering whether i should combine the two chambers or put an MDF barrier between the two. I do understand that if i split them and one fails the other one will still operate properly but is there any other advantages/disadvantages between the two concerning the sound?
