Paternity leave is so you can bond with your child it has nothing to do with the mother of the child.

The purpose of paternity leave is to allow you to assist in parenting your child. If you aren't living with your child (and its mother) and you aren't helping care for the child, you don't need (or deserve) paternity leave.

Its doubtful any nation that gives paternity leave is going to stipulate; "must be with mother of child," but since you dont state which country's laws you're asking about, who actually knows?
