Are there any better musicians than country pickers? After watching Albert Lee, Chet Atkins and Brad Paisley I'm not sure there are. ?

  There are a great number of guitarists both of the past and in the present, who aren't slouches when it comes to playing the guitar. Genre has little to do with the skill or the talent or a good guitarist. However as for Chet Atkins, he played whatever he wanted, and could as a true guitarist, quickly and fluidly transfer from one genre to another. 

Yes it is hard to pick the best country singer. Though I am not pleased with a number of the anti Trumpers

Oh, I don't know.  Maybe Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, George Harrison, Peter Green David Gilmour, Mark Knopfler, Eddie Van Halen, Les Paul ... seems like you don't try very hard at all.   

It also seems that "T.D.", the fruitboy troll, had to drop in to prove yet again how colossally ill-informed he is about everything that doesn't involve him performing fellatio & analingus on a customer.

It would depend on how you define “better” - if it involves someone playing something that you like better and are more impressed by, probably not.

In most fields of  music there are exceptional players - you've named some great country players. I can remember in the early seventies when no one I knew had heard of Albert Lee and were content to listen to people playing licks from the minor pentatonic scale endlessly.

Really though, their are players who are objectively “as good” in jazz and nowadays even traditional folk music (look up Tim Edey). There are also some breathtaking instrumentalists in rock, although, to me, rock music depends more on feel than virtuosity.

Honestly, I do not listen to country music. A deal ? I will try yours, will you try mine ?

IMHO many Blues guitarist are amazing. Seems to be a prerequisite for blues.
