Is it weird for a teen to want a reborn baby?

Well I’m 18, but I’d still consider myself a teen. I’m an only child and grew up with no family around. I wasn’t around babies or little kids growing up. But I’ve always loved babies and have always wanted to care for one. I doubt anyone will let me babysit since I have no experience. And I still have a long ways to have a baby if I ever have one. I looked into those realistic looking reborn dolls where you take care of them like a real baby, and some of them were very cute. I know they can be pricey, but I have my own money and would love to have one of these. Does this sound like a dumb/useless idea?

It's not weird at all. If you can afford it, go ahead and get one.

Everyone is different, and as long as the things that make you happy don't harm anyone, there is no reason to limit yourself.

Now, excuse me while I go take a look at my action figure collection (and I am almost thrice your age).

A doll will not prepare you to babysita real live baby.

Hundreds of millions of people, since the beginning of time, have raised babies without any experience. None of them needed or had a doll that prepared them for parenthood.

Read books to get an IDEA on how to raise a child.

They might be pricey, but so would having a real baby. If you want one, go ahead. If you do though - be careful about where ou leave your doll'

Nothing wrong with that and it seems completely harmless. To that other answerer, a reborn baby is NOT a actual, real baby.

Why dont u look into foster care as a career idea. You can look after a real baby and also get paid at the same time.

It could be fun for awhile but as soon as you realize you are wasting time and energy with a doll you will probably get sick of it and start trying to get your life set to have a real baby
