Difference between "Free Breakfast" and "Free Buffet Breakfast" at Hampton Inn Hotels?

I booked a hotel and on my reservation it says "Free Breakfast" but my brother in law got the same hotel and his said "Free Buffet Breakfast". What's the difference?

Probably no difference. Here's what you can get: "Waffles, oatmeal, cereal, omelet type eggs, bacon or sausage, bagels, yogurt, fruit, boiled eggs, pastries, coffee, tea, juice. over a year ago." [Trip Adviser]

No difference - Hampton Inns all offer the same buffet-style breakfast at their hotels. There might be a difference in these terms when considering other hotels, but the Hampton Inn breakfast is standard across their hotels and there are no table-service restaurant breakfast options at them.

Buffet means that you have to go to the restaurant and help yourself.

The breakfast at Hampton Inn is usually an egg dish, bacon or sausage, waffles, breads, muffins, cereals, yogurt, fruit etc and the morning beverages, it's very good and free!
