Toyota will hold its resale value far better than a Jeep. Toyota is historically more reliable than Jeep. I wouldn't touch a jeep with somebody else's money. Over the past 30 years I've owned one Jeep and didn't keep it long due to mechanical iissues. In comparison I've put over 200,000 miles apiece on three different Toyota trucks / SUV's. In that time I've had to replace almost nothing - maybe one starter, one alternator, and one transmission seal. Other than routine maintenance (oil changes, belts, hoses, oil changes, brakes), THAT'S IT. True story.

Had a Toyota RAV4 and a Jeep Cherokee. The build quality of the Toyota was miles better not to mention the 19th century suspension on the Jeep , and the rubbish brakes and the fact that it was the only car I've had that failed its first MOT.

Go for the Toyota. Everything Jeep makes is garbage.

I dont know about either of those, but I don't have much experience with them. Try looking at a Hyundai Tucson.
