Living with Dogs with Lupis?

Yesterday my 2 1/2 year old female whippet was diagnosed with early stage Lupis (Discoid lupus erythematosus). I have read up a bit on this condition on the internet but was wondering if anyone here has had experience with their dog Lupis, and how did you handle the condition? And do you have any tips that can help me care for mine better?

I'd be wanting an official diagnosis before doing anything. Make sure she does have lupis first. But until you get the diagnosis, keep her inside from 10am-6pm, and if she needs to go out make it for only a few minutes to limit the amount of time she is exposed to the sun. Exercise her in the early morning when the temperature is still cool

In canines, it is not systemic lupus like in humans. Keep her inside and out of the sun. Walk her at night when the sun goes down. Use non zinc oxide sunscreens to prevent inflammation.

If your vet did NOT do biopsies to "diagnose" the problem, then try a board certified dermatologist veterinarian. Biopsy is required for diagnosis.
