my mare's vagina looked crusty today and as I was washing off the outside with a soft cloth it opened up. The?
Skin inside was gray and mottled with little bumps. I'm calling my vet first thing in the morning but right now I am freaking out. Can someone please help me? I've never looked inside there before but I'm telling you it did not look right at all.

If your mare is eating and drinking fine, then you have nothing to worry about. I do feel having the vet check the mare would be a good idea, but if she isn't bleeding and if she is acting fine otherwise, then this isn't an emergency. I have seen a lot of mares vulvas and some are really crusty and strange, while others look more "normal". I suspect your mare is fine.

Sometimes some poop gets stuck to the outside. and they can look kinda nasty. Unless you see puss all over I wouldnt worry too much.
