Will i make it to acting? Please read not that long.?

here in Australia, you could apply to be in a movie, tv show, tv series, and commercials. these roles are only for Extras. Im only 17 and i made a profile and i got a call from the company that recruits people into any of those that are being made. they said i need a professional photo shoot. i got no problem with that, i will do this after exams.

However, not to sound cocky or anything, but i got a really ripped body. and i got mass too, been lifting since i was 15. i got a 6 pac, perfect chest. Im not bragging. but will these features help me stand out and somehow make it top. obviously ill start as being one of the extras but from there i want to earn recognition and if they see soemthing in me ill make it top. will that work?

Not by doing what you're doing - no.

Extras are NOT actors - just human props. Being an extra will not lead anywhere - it's just a hobby for people who like hanging around movie and TV studios.

They choose people not for any talent or ability but what they look like. So if they want someone who is 'ripped', then you might get called one day. But nothing else will ever happen.

If you're seen being an extra, it will actually damage any chance you might have had for ever getting into acting. You'll be telling everybody that you're not an actor - just a kid with no training or experience who likes films and is naive enough to think that being an extra is a way in. It's not.

In a TV studio or on a film set, the actors have already been chosen - from agencies, who only sign professional actors. The people who chose them won't be there - their job is already done. So there won't be anyone there while they're shooting to notice anyone.

The people who find actors do their job ages before this - they never go to the studio or set.

The directors and producers who are at the studio/set are never interested in the extras, as they know they aren't real actors. And they aren't the ones who choose actors for future projects anyway. They're just concentrating on the job in hand - not thinking about how big some narcissistic extra's muscles are. They just don't care.

What you look like is irrelevant when it comes to acting.

If you want to be an actor you need years of training and more years of stage experience - so you should stop wasting your time fussing over your body and work on your brain - that's what really needs building.
