How to get from Ascot to Heathrow Airport?
I'm going for Royal Ascot on Tuesday 19th June, and need to get to Heathrow Airport afterwards. National Rail says train to Feltham, and an hour bus ride (?). Seems quite long to me.
Another option is cabs - how much are cabs to Heathrow from Ascot? And are there any recommended cab companies in Ascot that I can use?
Generally, looking for opinions on all options of getting from Ascot to Heathrow!

OK, your best option is to get the South West Train from Ascot to Feltham as indicated which is direct and takes 25 mins. Then you can get a bus from outside the station to any of the airport terminals. For terminals 1-3 take bus 285 in 34 mins, runs every 12 mins. For terminal 4 & 5 take bus 490 in 27 mins, runs every 12 mins. You can cut this time down by taking any bus to Hatton Cross underground station and then changing again onto the Picaddilly line to any of the terminals, but its probably not worth the hassle if you have bags.
A combined train and bus ticket purchased at the station or in advance costs £7.75.
A taxi will be quite expensive, you are talking £50 for a pre-arranged taxi (whcih might be hard to get during Royal Ascot).

Actually, the journey planners give two alternatives, one via Feltham as you have seen (at 10 and 40 minutes past the hour), the other via Reading (at 13 & 43 minutes past). However, the Reading alternative also involves a 50 minute coach journey. The big difference is the fares - £7.75 via Feltham, £24.10 via Reading (WOW!). So far as cabs are concerned, I can't give any recommendations, but only suggest that you search and ring a few for quotes.
