What do you think i am allergic off? but i definately am!! read further please.?

Hi there,

This is what i have concluded so far. I have been fighting with acne/pimples for one year now, its nothing that i have noticed to do with the weather, moisturiser.. its something i am allergic off... i watched my food intake very carefully hence no spots, but once i had mashed potato and next day mashed peas from work canteen, i kinda burst out with spots with in a day or two.. Then i started taking anti-allergic to calm them down, which it did...

Can you make of anything you think i am allergic off..

any advice would be really appriciated... thanks

you are correct it is allergy. Peas are well known to cause such allergies. not potatoes.

I have been fighting acne on and off for about 10 years, I have had three different courses of antibiotics and these worked really well although I was very much against it at the time. My last course of antibiotics was for a year and these has stopped the little blighters.

I did keep food diaries at the time and i did notice that it did coincide with what i was eating and I would eliminate the foods that caused problems for a good couple of months then reintroduce them. If this works for you then you should talk to your doctor about what you have found with your elimination diets. You need to make sure that taking away the suspect foods are not going to cause problems with immunity or vitamin or mineral intakes and if they do how you would top up on the intakes of minerals that you are losing.

Acne is usually caused by hormonal changes, and the general treatment is with antibiotic pills and/or creams or gels to apply. Thtreatmentet can take 3 months or more to have an effect. If the acne is very bad, or not responding to treatment, ROACCUTANE gives fantastic results-it can ONLY bprescribeded by a dermatologist.

    Good luck

it could be the peas. U may try to avoid them and see if there's improvement. Or to be sure, just take an allergy test from ur doctor :)
