God is imaginary. You can imagine him doing whatever you like.

    Good question.

    I don't know if there's an actual god or not . . . but . . .

It seems to me that wealth can be its own punishment.

I've seen people who are so focused on their earthly posessions that they lose track of everything else. And they lose everything else.

But then, poverty is no great thing, either.

If there is a god, I don't think it would need to punish anyone for being wealthy. If a person was distracted by wealth, power, fame, whatever, to the point where he lost track of where he personally felt himself to be happiest and most at peace in the world, then his wealth would have hurt him to that same extent.

Usually, the only way to stay rich is to spend a lot of time tending to your riches. There's lots of paperwork and IRS forms and consultations with financial advisors when you're wealthy. And the richer you are, the more you have to be concerned with tax law and persuading politicians to change tax laws so that you can keep your wealth. Plus, if you have businesses, you'll probably have to deal with lawyers and lawsuits and all sorts of things that keep you from thinking about how much more red there is in the oak tree leaves this year. And you might be in too much of a hurry to get from point A to point B, that you might not notice that a turtle got stuck on its back in the creek, and needed a little push to get flipped over right so it didn't die. And you might be so wealthy that you spend so much of your time preserving your own wealth, that your life becomes a mission of nothing more than 'asset preservation.' And that's the point where your friends may as well dig a hole and throw you in it, because you're not really living. You're tending to your money, that's all.

So . . . I don't think there's any antipathy from any god toward rich people. More often than not, wealth is its own punishment.

    Best wishes,

God doesn't hate anybody nor anything at all.

But, God feels a wrath for the unrepented sinners.

And, how can be rich people be good at all, when they are rich while some children starve.

And, I believe in the Camel and the Needle verse.

Money is not a negative in itself the love of money is a negative. When you will steal lie and cheat to maintain the wealth or try to gain additional wealth that's when it becomes a problem and notice the majority of the wealthy do these things. You can see why jesus used the analogy of the camel through the needle.

    psst try OT...

Ecc 5:19 Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work—this is a gift of God.

Ecc 10:19 a feast is made for laughter, and wine makes life merry, but money is the answer for everything.

These verse about the camel, doesn't say its impossible. Since isn't it also said that anything is possible with god?!?

Looking at american mega-churches, the Vatican, the buildings dedicated to various gods on Earth...Apparently this god loves rich people.

Or it is just a scam to get money from gullible people.

You are reffering to the Christian bible. Therefore even if being rich is a sin Jesus saves you from your sins so it doesn't matter as long as you believe in Jesus

Gods of any sort have never existed.

Holy books aren't proof of anything. You could write one by next week. Lots of people have.

He might have made them poor. Jesus doesn't like the rich because they are selfish and self-important.

God does not hate the rich.

The love of money is the root of all evil, not the money itself.
