The churches own figures show only 28% ever attend church in a year. Indeed if 28% ever tried to attend church on the same day, even working shifts, there is simply not enough churches!

But count the bars - in many places there is more space In the bars than the churches!

Count all the seats in every church in a town and compare that to the population and it is very unlikely to achieve even 5%!

This is true right through the bible belt and in Salt Lake City!

now Harold Camping is going to make a lot of people too ashamed to be seen near a church!

I so desire that Jennifer's answer grow to be sarcastic. i can not think of somebody announcing that heavily. sure I completely think of that churches that are actually not any further used could be placed to a pair solid use. Turning them into homeless shelters appears like a magnificent concept. the problem is which you will have human beings and money to run the preserve. If noone is there to oversee issues, it would on the instant grow to be very run down, grimy, and probably overrun with drug addicts finding for a their next severe.

They are empty because old fashioned values are gone. Morals are not good, people do not respect each other. And going to church....is....blaaaaahhhh. to a lot of people.

Mom and dad used to take family to church...Now, mom and dad are busy working, and letting family alone at home, or with a baby sitter.

So, as time goes by, people will become less and less relgious, and the churches will be closed.

Ours is so full that we need to expand. If we arrive late the seats may all be taken. Jesus hasn't come for his own yet. Amazing Facts with Doug Batchelor has some great online Bible studies that can answer prophecy questions from the Bible.

WOW... you may be onto something there! Jesus came when Harold Camping wasn't looking! Just like a thief in the night! It's uncanny!

Starting in the 19th century, learned and common people in greater and greater numbers have stopped believing in God, or in organized religion.

It could be true, what you have said...perhaps the ones that still goto church haven't heard...the ...news..

    ...That God is dead.
