I saw a question about Noah and the story found in Genesis 9:18-26 and Leviticus 18:8.?
The story got nastier the more I checked out the words in the Strong's concordance, and my dictionary. I'm not positive if was Noah or his wife that Ham went to. If it was Noah's wife, is Canaan the result? If it was Noah, then it was that sin that church people are quick to condemn. Now to my real question. I've always wondered why Pig served at Christmas and Easter was called Ham, to celebrate Jesus? I thought pig was an abomination according to Leviticus 11. Then I looked up Ham in the dictionary and found it to be the back end of a pig. Was ham named after the real Ham, Noah's son? If so, isn't it the supreme insult to Jesus to eat it when you are trying to express thanks to Him?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCommunion and Wine, I came across this verse this morning in Isaiah 28:7,8. Why do so many churches use wine ?
"But they have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up with wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment. For the tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean. " Isaiah 28:7,8. When Jesus caused the water to be turned from water to wine everyone could relate to the difference between old wine and fresh wine at the wedding. He also talked about putting new wine in old wineskins. He said people put new wine in new wineskins. In Proverbs 20:1 it says "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging; and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise."
