What does Pink Floyd, Megadeth, and Dr. Strangelove have in common?

They all made use of the military term 'megadeath' which means one million deaths.

One of Pink Floyd's early names was The Meggadeaths. Both Floyd and Megadeth probably got their name Stanley Kubrick's 1964 film Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.

Q1: Know any other odd connections between otherwise unrelated bands or artists?

Q2: Pink Floyd song of the day?

Q3: Megadeth song of the day?

Q4: Favorite quote from Dr. Strangelove?

YES! Good bit of trivia that is. Every time I tell someone that Pink Floyd used to be The Meggadeaths and then The Tea Set I get the strangest looks haha! I must say, I much prefer the name Pink Floyd! <3

Q1: Can't say I do, aside from the obvious connections like Bowie and Jagger being secretly in love and both Queen and Floyd both having a song called The Show Must Go On haha...

Q2: My all time favourite is Shine On You Crazy Diamond, but song of the day would have to be Careful With That Axe Eugene. Too incredibly beautiful <3

Q3: Have not yet checked them out sorry!

Q4: Haven't checked that out yet either, but it's on my list of movies to see!

Nick's Boogie. "Nick's Boogie" is a song by Pink Floyd and was played only once according to official recordings. It was played at The 14 Hour Technicolor Dream. The song was recorded to be included on soundtrack to the film Tonite Let's All Make Love in London (1968), but was only released later on reissues of the soundtrack album (1990) by See For Miles and on the CD London '66-'67 (1995). The song is 11 minutes 55 seconds long, and is essentially an extended jam, similar to that of "Interstellar Overdrive".

That's pretty cool... didn't know about that!

Q1: Well, the Yardbirds disbanded, and guitarist Jimmy Page went on to create Led Zeppelin. When Zep disbanded, Page went on to collaborate with Paul Rodgers (Bad Company), Chris Slade (AC/DC), and Tony Franklin in "The Firm," where they had one big hit in the eighties with "Radioactive." He also worked with David Coverdale (frontman of Whitesnake, a band that's an obvious rip-off to Zep)... I could go on and on all day with playing "Six Degrees of Separation" with bands :)

    Q2: "Have A Cigar"

    Q3: "Symphony of Destruction"

    Q4: Haven't seen it yet :/
