Dwarf Gourami care. Information please?

Any info for caring for Dwarf Gouramis?

I have a large community tank with Guppies & Platies.

Do Dwarf Gouramis require any special care. I had two. After a few weeks both have died, their diet was a wide variety of healthy fish food. The tank is planted with many live plants and ornamental hiding spots.

any serious advice please?

I would like to get some more, but not to kill them.

They seemed to mix happily. What have I done wrong.

If the water quality is healthy, the tank is the right size (ideally over 15-20 gallons plus) and they weren't being bullied, you probably did nothing wrong.

Most Dwarf Gouramis in the pet trade tend to be pretty sickly and harbour their own incurable virus, which all stems from poor captive breeding in Singapore, and has now spread across most captive bred Dwarf Gouramis, to the point some stores entirely stopped stocking Dwarves because they couldn't find a healthy batch!

Healthier alternatives include the Honey Gourami (Colisa chuna) or the Thick-Lipped Gourami (Colisa labiosus).
