Siamese Fighting Fish mated today. How long Should I leave him in there?

Question

My beautiiful Bettas mated today. He made a great bubble nest. She was fat  and very full of eggs. All went well.
I left them together for a few hours. He made a bubble nest. When I went back, my girl wasn't fat any more, quite thin in fact.
I removed her and put her back in her tank. He is sitting under the bubble nest protecting it. 
Truly amazing stuff.
when should I remove him from the tank?
2-3days?

First off, do not take the male out until fry are free swimming or they will die. Free swimming means swimming straight, they are getting away from the male, not stuck to the side or hanging from the nest. Depending on the temp of the tank, 78F is best if you want them to be healthy, the male should be removed in 1-4 days. All fry mature differently.

Yup, he should only be removed once the fry are free-swimming. If he's removed prematurely any eggs that fall out of the nest will fungus on the bottom of the tank! The only time that he should be removed prematurely is if he's started to eat the eggs, common for first time dads! It should be 2-3 days or so, depends how quickly your fry develop!

you should remove him when you thing he has fertilized the eggs
p.s. you can make money by sell the baby fish if you want but make shore that they can survive on there own but don't let the mother and father in till the are pretty big because they will eat there babies
