Will I need to re-waterproof my deck?

Question

I applied a waterproofing stain to my deck yesterday and it unexpectedly rained this morning. The product tells me not to apply it if rain is expected within 24 hours. Depending on the part of the deck, the stain has only been drying for 18-22 hours. Will I need to re-do it?

Update:

It isn't a hard, driving rain. More of a soft, but long, soaking rain.

I think you'll be able to tell if the stain had time to soak in and dry or not.  If the water is beading on the treated area, it's probably OK but if it appears soaked, another coat will probably be needed.

It entirely depends on whether the stain has properly absorbed into the wood or not.  Usually 18 hours of decent weather is good enough but you can only tell if the water beads off the lumber.

Depends, read the directions on the can. It usually takes a few consecutive days of no moisture, outside of morning dew, to fully be ready for rain. You, more than likely, will need to stain again.
