Can a Remington 870 Bolt be duracoated or gunkoted?

I have a police surplus remington 870 wingmaster that is going to be duracoated flat or matte black, the bolt is a polished finish bolt and I would rather it be black. I am pretty sure that that is ok to do, but I just want to make sure I will not put something out of tolerance by doing so.

any gun can be. On youtube i saw a remington duracoated all black thet cam out real well. Also on youtube type in nutnfancy and duracoating. Nutnfancy is a good go to reference for guns and knife and he has vids of him duracoating. If you do the bolt do it in a gloss finish and not a matt.

The visible part, top and back could be as far as I remember. Those parts don't ride on anything.

It can, but why throw away the money for something that will NOT improve the function of the gun at all?
