If I buy WoW in the store will I have to pay again later?

Is it like a subscription or a one time fee. Will I get the full game forever (not counting upgrades and such - or maybe counting upgrades?-) or will I need to pay again in a month/year/whatever?

Please and thank you! I really want the game (I'm getting an external harddrive and everything so that my computer will run faster -though I need the harddrive for more then just games) I just don't know what I'm doing so any help regarding what to buy and what all comes with the purchase would be great! Thanks!

P.S. if you couldn't tell I've never played the game before so be kind when giving instructions please.

If you buy the game, you get to play it for free for 1 month. Then you have to pay anywhere from 13 to 15 bucks a month after that. 13 bucks a month if you decide to pay for 6 months at once. 14 bucks a months if you decide to pay for 3 months at once. 15 bucks a month if you decide to pay monthly.

You have to pay for WoW (classic/vanilla/pre-BC), the expansions (Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King & yet to be release Cataclysm) and a subscription for each account.

WoW: zones- Kalimdor & Eastern Kingdoms

    levels- 1-60

skill levels- Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert & Artisan

    BC adds: zones- Outlands

    levels- 61-70

    races- Drainei Blood Elves

    professions- Jewelcrafting

    skill levels- Master

& ability to learn flying mount in certain zones

    LK adds: zones- Northern Kingdom

    levels- 71-80

    class- Death Knights

    profession- Inscription

    skill levels- Grand Master

Cataclysm plans to add: remodeling of Kalimdor & Eastern Kingdoms

    levels- 81-85

    races- Worgen & Goblin

    profession- Archaeology

    skill levels- Illustrious

There's more differences, but those are some of the main ones. I believe it is cheaper to by the set (WoW, BC & LK) then to buy each individually. You can not skip expansions, you must get them in order/@ the same time.

The subscription covers the patches that come out fairly regularly. The cost of it does vary depending on how much time you buy @ once (more time=discount). There are a number of ways to pay for it, including time cards, credit card & I think even paypal now.

WoW is a subscription, if you buy it in the store you usually get a 10day free trial card, use that first before paying the subscription.

You also have to pay to purchase the game disc - thats a one time fee.
