Would you reccomment an MGB GT?

I am able to get on for less than £2000 in reasonable condition - should i go for it?

    The price is right.

    However there is a lot of work needed to keep these cars on the road and running right.

    Wish I had one, but I will just have to go drive my Miata to take away the pain.

    Well apart from the looks - which are a matter of taste - these really were not that good a car! They also rust badly in out of the way places and the repairs to that are NOT cheap!

    Incidentally, by modern standards the performance and handling are indifferent.

    Not for everyday use, this is a weekend use car for enthusiasts who like to spend loads of time working under the bonnet as a leisure activity.

    These cars were not that reliable when bought new, what are they like when they are a good few years old.
