What Kind Of Metals Can Be Used For Building An Iguana Cage?

Okay, so my cousin has agreed to build an adult size cage for my iguana, but he works with metals, not wood like most cages. So, my question is, what kind of metals (if any) are safe for my iguana? I know that some woods are not safe for reptiles, so I'm just being over protective and need to know that metal is safe.

P.S. It wont be a screen/bar cage, it'll be in closed with vents, openings for lights, and a poly glass door. I have plans for a wooden cage that we're going to try to remake in metal.

Also, if you have any plans for a metal cage then could you post them, please?

Thanks everyone!

Update:

This is the cage I'm trying to build, but I want it to be metal:

i would not recommend an enclosure made out of metal.... try something outs like Plexiglas.. and drill some hole on the side for ventilation and it should be alright...

Metals must be corrosion proof. An iguana will sneeze salty water that can eat through steel in a few months if it's not the right alloy. I know, when I changed my iguana's cage I had trouble disassembling the old one: the screw heads were turning into a rusty powder. Add to that that they sometimes pee in the cage, spill their water and food, and make a mess in every way imaginable, anything that can easily be damaged by water is not suitable.

Of course look out for sharp edges, metal has more bite than wood!

Think about heat conductivity: that cage will need more powerful heating devices than a similar sized one made of a more insulating material.

And something else should line the bottom, I wouldn't let my iguana sit directly on metal when she's not on her climbers.

i am alittle confused by your cage idea. But making the sides metal is not a good idea. It will make the enclosure to hot and hold in way wo much humidity. Not to mention hot to the touch for both you and your lizard. A cage would not hold in the heat or humidity, so you need walls of some sort. I mean if you made a metal frame for some glass that would be a good idea. Plexi glass is not so good. Also be careful if you have a screen for the sides as he can hurt himself by rubbing against it.

Make a wooden frame, and use some thin wire fencing. There are books you can buy that can recommend some good materials to use. You can get the supplies at the home depot.
