What causes curly nails?

My nails are weird - on certain ones, the top corner curls under and round (like it was going to corkscrew) the rest of the nail is fine. The nails are not very long (about 1cm-1.5cm from cuticle to tip) What's causing this?

Update:

It's not a milk thing - there's a history of osteoporosis in the family so i drink tonnes of the stuff and always have done. As for silica, i already take a hair and nail supplement
