TPA in Australia and how it relates to supply of replacement parts.?

Under the TPA 1974 it is stipulated that an importer has to be able to supply replacement or service parts for any goods that are imported.

Someone was trying to tell me that the parts need to be made available to the general public rather than just authorised service agencies; any company not supplying to the general public is in breach of the law.

I didn't think that this is the case and supplying to service agents meets they obligations under the TPA 1974.

Appreciate it if someone could clarify?

Many thanks in advance.

Update:

Diana,

Yes I have had a look, but law is a complicated and it is a big document. I do not have the required skills to interpret such a document correctly.
