Who else finds reptiles addictive?

I personally love all animals and if I had to choose I'd prefer the furry warm kind. But I got my first reptile last year for graduation (an iguana) and somehow I now have six. I am so addicted to them. There are soooo many different kinds and I'm thinking of switching my field of study from horses and deer to herps. @.@

Who else went from one to many without realizing it? Do you have a favorite?

BTW, my favorites are my Iguana and my snake. I love them so much more then my other animals . . . my cat does everything in her power to eat the snake and scare he iguana.

i was terrified of snakes maybe 3 years ago. my husband said we are getting a snake to get you over your fear. so we got a ball python...at the store i was intriuged by a little cali king and i went back several times to see her and ended up getting her. then another ball python...then came 4 amazon tree boas. then before you know it we had 24 snakes including one resuced 13' burmese python that had a broken neck, 2 adult blood pythons, 10 baby blood pythons from a clutch that our adults laid, 4 ball pythons, 2 cali kingsnakes 4 amazon tree boas, 1 green tree python. unfortunately when my husband joined the navy and we moved from texas to washington state we had to scale back drastically...now we have 5 snakes...we kept 2 ball pythons (the first one of course) and 2 cali kingsnakes (again the one i fell in love with of course) and one green tree python.

The same thing happened to me, but with snakes. I bought a baby corn snake when I was 10, and now own 5. Snakes just fascinate me, especially pythons. I also have a 5 (almost 6) year old turtle and a giant leopard gecko that I recently bought almost 3 weeks ago. Snakes are my life, and I will always own them for the rest of my life. My favorite of all of the snakes I've ever owned would be my ball python, Riley. He is the best and nicest snake I've ever owned. Just an amazing creature. I own 2 king snakes, 1 ball python, 1 corn snake, and 1 dumeril's boa. I would love to have a job that includes studying pythons. My cat also tries to attack my snakes, but I don't let him :). I will never let him hurt any of my snakes, especially Riley. Every snake I own gives me more facts about them, makes me do more research, helps me learn more about them, and allows me to have a great experience with them. Yes, reptiles are addicting.

Source(s): Own 5 snakes, 1 leopard gecko, and 1 turtle.

I had a corn snake but now I have a California Whit Banded King Snake. I love them both, even if the Corn Snake is dead I still love him. I'm in love with reptiles. We also have 2 cats a dog, 6 fish, horse and a snake.

All reptile owners KNOW it's addictive.

My first snake was a Ball Python, and the collection keeps expanding. They have to stop having Reptile Shows nearby, my house will soon be a zoo!
