Cabela's Pine Ridge shotgun scopes any good?

Considering putting one on a 12 ga slug gun. Curious about light transmission and how well they stand up to heavy recoil. Also curious about what folks think of the diamond shaped reticle vs the traditional duplex.

Update:

Why put a scope on? Because I want to...the open rifle sights work okay (get 1.5 inch groups at 100 yds) but I like to use a scope to ensure clear shot lanes in thick cover. It's not a lack of accuracy or ability that makes me want to do this, merely personal preference.

BTW, more practice is always a good thing, but I've fired 5,000+ shotgun/rifle/pistol rounds in the last year--so don't think practice is really an issue.

Im not 100% on the Pine Ridge line yet as I have seen alot of reviews all coming back with mixed feelings and even some stating that the optics could not handle the recoil. The two I have work well and I have had no problems with them for about a year now. One is on an 870 express while the other sets on top of a Marlin 450 Mag lever gun. The Marlin kicks hard and if it can take that then I can only assume the must be bad batches out there.

Either way, Cabelas is 100% about the custumer, and will take the purchase back no questions asked. I say give it a shot. As far as LT, I would rank it next to Bushnell, and thats not bad at all for the price.

Unless you plan on shooting shot shell, I would stick with the regular reticle as the diamond was intended to be for turkey loads.
