Do you think Andrew Demetrio does a good job as the head of the AFL?

If so, why does he?

If not, why doesn't he and who would make a good replacement?

    Financially yes.

He has brought in huge money via TV rights game day sponsors and marketed the AFL extremely well to the Australian public

But, he has ticked off the loyal supporters with the money first, game second approach. The AFL structure their whole home and away season on what will bring in the most money not on a fair deal for all clubs so the draw is unfair.

He wants to expand the game to Gold Coast and Western Sydney not because they deserve it but because they will bring in more money via TV and sponsorship. Tassie deserve their own team but not him NO WAY money is his priority

Him and his cronies continually want to change the rules and this has changed the game in a huge way with most opinion saying he has gone to far and leave the game alone please.

Profits and spestators are all up so he has done well in that regard but Joe Average on the street cant stand.

Replace him with er um David Parkin

Hes put heaps of money into the AFL & has made it grow financially - its popularity has risen heaps & it keeps growing.

I think he manages it on a prety good basis..sometimes he makes some odd decisions - but all up hes not bad, that doesnt mean I think hes good. If i had to pick someone to replace him, I would pick someone like Kevin Sheedy or Leigh Matthews - who know the value of our game & know how to treat it right.

Hes actually a pretty nice bloke tbh, I remember him joking around with the fev when he interviewed him at the brownlow night - about reading out round two instead of round one first, that was hilarious!

No Not a Chance ! Some one with the Balls to straighten the Game up and Straighten the Player up

They get Paid Massive Salaries and should be restrained at all times

No Nite clubs, No Parties, No drugs, Or Heavy drinking sessions ,If they Break the Rules They are Gone Bye Bye dont come Back ....

I don't think he is a good figurehead. The AFL has done alright under his stewardship but this is due mainly to the work done before him and work being done for him. He has an arrogant streak that fails to endear him to the public/supporters. We did better with men like Ross Oakley.

    he is OK.

bad - heaps of rule changes (although not entirely his fault), wanting to expand the league into WEST SYDNEY when its a RL haven (should go to Darwin or Tasmania) and he hasnt braught the game into big new depths.

the only good thing he has done is that big $780 million dollar TV deal. It is helping grass roots footy a lot...its a shame that the TV networks arnt living up to their promises that they made up here in QLD!

I think he is comparable to Mr Bush over there in the USA - does one or two things brilliantly but makes very bad decisions 7 times out of 10.

The AFL Commission must think he is doing a wonderful job. They granted him a huge pay rise recently!

He is doing a good job

What is wrong with the afl the moment that he is to blame for?

More viewers than ever, more people going to games than ever, more money in the game, more sponsorship

the afl is in a great place

The swans just pi$$ed away $750,000 and the Big D wants to get a second team in Harbour Town? What a joke.

He has ruined the rules and game play.

He is the worst thing to ever happen to AFL.

The person before hims hould come back and make the rules right again.

    Anyone would be better.

He always seems to handle himself well enough on the GF edition of Before the Game.

Yes, some of his decisions are dodgy, but remember, in board situations like that one, he holds very little power overall.

I think he has improved the league =)

EDIT: When he goes, however, I'd love to see Sheeds take the job!
