Is it possible to convert a lap belt to one with a shoulder strap on a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The middle seat in the back only has a lap belt. Is there a way to convert this into a seat belt with a shoulder strap?

Not easily. The seat back is not strong enough to support the strain of a person's weight on a shoulder belt during an accident.
