When does Obama actually become President?

I'm not American so don't know much more than I've seen on the news about the election etc.

I know Obama is now the President elect but Bush is still doing all the presidential stuff. I'm just wondering when does Obama take over as the actual president.

Update:

No I did not vote in the last election.

From what I've heard he was born in America he just lived in different places. From what I understand of your rules of eligibility for President you just have to be born in America. This means noone who is a naturalised american can become the president am I right.

    Presidents are always sworn in the January 20 following the day they are elected. This used to be pretty important because it took a long time to count votes, for news to spread, and for the new president to pack his things and move everything to DC. Now it's pretty much just tradition.

    i don't be conscious of yet he needs to speed up. and that i spotted the economic gadget started happening hill for the period of 2008/ close to the top of Bush's 2nd term. i do no longer keep in mind listening to a team of crap a pair of recession plenty in the previous than 2008. it is my opinion. Democrats use the blame Bush crap alot. Even Obama did it on an identical time as doing that communicate with Cheny. I propose what's the factor of doing that?? purely to make excuses for their errors?

    President-elect Token will not be President.

    He needs to verify he is eligible to be President - and since he is not a natural born citizen he cannot prove that he is.
