Id of spider?

I was walking in the royal national park Sydney the other day and noticed a fine filament, like a spider web, hanging down with about 7 drops of a wine coloured substance at the bottom. It seemed to to be coming from the very tips of the trees about 8 meters above so I don't think it was sap/resin.

Does anyone know what it is?

Update:

Worldstiti - It wasn't blood the colour was a transparent wine colour.

DJ Marx - It could have been resin, but I don't think so because it was hanging from the tips of the leaves/branches about 8 metres above the ground

Update 2:

Theamaryllisqueen - We don't have Black widows in Australia. We have a close relative, the redback spider, but the habitat, being high up in a tree, does not fit the behaviour. There are also lots more deadly spiders than the black widow such as the Brazilian wandering spider or the funnel web spider. However, it is rare that anyone dies from a spider bite.

May just have been the sap from a Blood Gum tree. Did the bark have red blotches in it ? It's a type of Eucalyptus.
