Has anyone here read "90 Minutes in Heaven" by Don Piper?

"To those who do not believe no amount of proof will ever be enough. For those who believe , no proof is necessary." Author Unknown

This tragic and unbelievable experience forever changed one man's life and opened the wonders of Heaven for all to see. If you haven't read it, and even if you do not believe, read it anyway. If you have read this incredible story of death and life, I'd like to know what you thought of it. Thanks!

Update:

PAULO: I too had a bit of a hard time with that portion and believe that God would have taken him fully or given him back no matter what. Then again, prayers can't hurt and what does one make out of this kind of experience without thinking it might have? Even a minister had a hard time with all of this!

Update 2:

wise1: You and I believe and trust, therefore we know! What we also know is that either word doesn't make much difference to those who do not trust or believe. Yes, it is a great quote and a wonderful truth!

Update 3:

Copp366: I know you've been where you said you've been but I also know that it wouldn't be your choice whether you could come back. Let's just hope that when you do leave us, your prayer is answered and you won't have to come back...unless God has further plans for you. You never know!

Update 4:

kait: It does sound so familiar doesn't it? My own minds eye has another view of it but whatever it is, must surely transcend anything else we've ever imagined.

Update 5:

Sorry Coop 366...I must have been dreaming when I typed your name...LOL!

That quote is dead on truth, but if I were the author I would change the word "believe" to "trust".

People get lost not knowing what to believe.

The truth is easier to know if you can discern the truth from distrust. It's extremely hard for people to discern a belief from disbelief.

That being said, disbelievers will still be skeptical of near death experiences. They will claim that we are gullible for believing. Gee... a disbeliever doesn't believe. How come they haven't got a clue what makes them distrust.

If you are interested in Don Piper's story of his afterlife experience why not explore other peoples NDEs. The entire truth is so much greater than any one religious belief. God encompasses all beliefs.

    Here's another thought.

No one has to die to have a spiritual awakening. In fact near death experiences indicate that physical death is certainly not an end to spirit. It's perfectly possible to trust your eternal existence. I trust mine perfectly.

Skeptics will never trust what I know.

Yes I read the book and believed every word of it. It is pretty amazing that God was able to bring Don back to life after being dead for 90 minutes. I especially liked reading about how Don described Heaven. It sounds just like God's Word says. The Bible tells us that there is not only life after death, but eternal life so glorious that “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9).

I read it - and although I believe his account - (I have had out-of-body experiences myself so I know there is a life outside our physical bodies) - I did have some problems with his story - namely this whole idea that his whole life and death scenario was dependent upon the prayers of his church - that whole doctrine of "you prayed and I'm here" makes absolutely no sense to me since I am more of the "prayer doesn't change God, it changes us" faith - like if the church hadn't prayed, than Piper would still be in heaven today - where he admits he wants to be!

Have not read it but do not need proof. Have been to Hell and do not want to go back. I look out my window and see God in everything. If went to Heaven for 90 minutes, I would not come back.

I even have truly study it and actually loved it. What he says approximately Heaven is precise in accordance to the Bible and what it tells us of Heaven. There are some unknown issues that we get informed, as in it isn't the Bible, yet no conflicting techniques or information. God says that Heaven is previous our mind's eye, and that i think of his pupose of people like John is to furnish us reasonable glimpses of it,motivate us, and to enlightened us each and every time. What did you think of of it? in the beginning i became into not too confident a thank you to take it, because of the fact there are various 'Christians' accessible in seek of popularity and glory, yet immediately after interpreting some it became obvious he became into not one.
