Pagan Parents.?

I've already been falsely reported to the authorities because of my faith. Unfortunately people believe where there's smoke there's fire.

I've been critised for permitting my daughter to attend ANY religious service that she is interested in. In 5 years she's decided to attend the school Easter Service twice. She's observed Budhists services and is quite familiar with various religious symbols and how to show respect to the (various) faith(s) claiming that symbol.

How can this be wrong?

.

Update:

Thanks all who've answered so far.

Just wish there was a way to protect oneself from malicious Prats.

For me, and obvioiusly for you, it is not wrong. How sad it is when we are condemned for teaching our childern love and tolerance and respect for any and all religions!

I have 8 yr old twins who are very inquisitive about all different kinds of beliefs, one of them is into Egyptology and it is almost sad to say that he has a tendancy to correct me when i am wrong concerning a facet of that particular belief. I believe he is an old soul indeed to have so much knowledge at such a young age.

I try and teach my children very basic beliefs, ie: God is Everything or God is Nothing......

They know that some people believe in hell while others believe in reincarnation and summerland, as well as many other beliefs.

The true answer here is taking the moral responsibility to teach our children Tolerance.

The most lovable quality any human being can possess is tolerance. ….

It is the vision that enables one to see things from another’s viewpoint….

It is the generosity that concedes to others the right to their own opinions and their own peculiarities…..

It is the bigness that enables us to let people be happy in their own way instead of our way.

May you be blessed for following the way of your heart and your beliefs...you are a refreshing person indeed. Please also know that one of the greatest gifts i ever recieved was the knowledge of " What other people think of me is none of my business"

I don't get it. What could they have reported you for? It's sounds like you are doing a wonderful job. Your daughter will probably be very open-minded and won't discriminate based on religion. You're letting her think for herself instead of forcing your beliefs down her throat. Oh no! Report the Pagan parent! She's teaching her daughter RESPECT and how to THINK FOR HERSELF! I hope they leave you alone. Brightest blessings to you and your daughter both.

I don't see how it's wrong but, then again I be the type to do the same thing. I think Children SHOULD be exposed to as many different religions as possible so when THEY are ready THEY can make up their own mind. Unfortunately, not everyone feels the same, need I say Jesus Camp?!?

I am so sorry for your experience. You are a wonderful parent and I plan to be the same with my children. I hope they will learn about many paths and I will support any choice they make. Keep doing what your doing knowing that you are right.

IMO u're not wrong you're teaching your child how to respect others and their beliefs which is more than what I can say for alot of parents out there bc more often than not we raise our children up in the religions that we're taught are right so I say bravo! to you for allowing your child to make up her own mind!

Source(s): ignore the the haters obviously they have no clue those that reported u should be ashamed.

I'm sorry you are being persecuted for your beliefs.

Your choice cannot be wrong if it is the one you've chosen for your children.

Bright Blessings to you and your family!

Who says it is wrong? The holier than though politically correct people? YOU are doing what is right for you and your family. Anyone who says otherwise is a hypocrite!

You are the future - seeking out the truth wherever it exists in its many beautiful ways. They are the past - hiding in darkened hovels and afraid to open their eyes in case the light blinds them. You are the best mom !

It isn't wrong. It sounds like you're raising a very open-minded and intelligent child.
