Some nice long nails. How long?

Question

As they are all the rage I am thinking of getting some nails; never had nice nails before. I was thinking of gel as I don't like the smell of the acrylic nail shops. A male friend reckons the longer the better. Any advice on how long is sexy? What are the problems of fake nails?

if you heve them any longer you will look witchy or reaaly wannabe posh!
square them at the ends and have a clean french manicure!

I am a nail tech and i can pretty much tell you if you dont like acrylics then your only good options are gels and virtuals(which are only offered at Dashing Diva where i work and there are only 7 locations in the US) But Gels are strong and hold up great. The only issue with gels is that some shops just use and acrylic base and a gel top coat and call it gel. So make sure that when you are having the gels done they do not use a powder, true gel is really gel and u have to cure each layer under a uv light. The only disadvantage is removal. These can only be filed off or pulled off, you cant soak them in anything to remove them. But its the best way to go and if you do not have any friends who get their nails done on a regular basis, check out your states State Board of Cosmetology websites for salon grades and that will help you make a good decision about where to go. Make sure its sanitary!

if you get the gel nails be aware that they can't be soaked off...they can only be filed down if you want them removed....don't go too long or you will find that everyday usual routines will be very difficult to do....they may look nice but be practical...i would strongly suggest you look around and see if anyone around your area does the ( bio-sculptured gel nails)...these can be soaked off and are a 5 star rated gel system for healther nails...you can get length and they look fabulous....look on line....www.biosculpturenails.com....it is a product from south africa....good luck...

i hate those nails shops.. they stink of paint and make me dizzy. my daughter gets those fake nails and she thas to get them filled in every now and then, my nails i let grow but they break all of the time for one thing or another, about a 1/2 inch should be good.
