I can generally close my eyes and visualize anything I want as though it were completely real within a few seconds. I often completely zone out of reality to enter random vivid fantasies. I recently discovered that others don't seem to have this experience.

I'm watching the show Twin Peaks and it's got to be my favorite show of all time. I'm obsessed with the unsettling surrealist tone and the weird underlying mystery. Are there any books that do this same sort of thing well?

Obviously not everyone can have a job that fits their hobby, but it doesn t hurt to ask. I really enjoy thinking about strange alien environments and what types of creatures would evolve to live there. What sorts of careers would this be good for? Something creative, I guess.

I have a deep passion for abstract problem solving. Give me a puzzle and I won t stop thinking about it until it s solved. However, the sight of an equation makes me run for the hills. Usually when I solve a math puzzle I make up all my own notation. Is there a field of math that is light on the formal equation writing and more based around explaining your arguments?

I want to become obsessed with studying math and physics. I believe this is what separates geniuses from normal folk. Are there methods for forming obsessions in your mind? Clearly it can be done accidentally.

I almost live my whole life in a dreamy haze. It's almost like being high without being high...I have a very intuitive grasp of artistic and mathematical ideas, yet get extremely frustrated and bored when it comes to writing or implementing them. Every career I look at seems so limiting. I feel like I have a lot to offer the world, but everything is so full of rules and formalities. Someone suggested becoming a psychic and giving tarot card readings, and I got a little sad at how good that idea sounded. What are some other careers that are based almost entirely on intuition?

I'm currently in my junior year of college studying computer science. For whatever reason, it took me this long to realize that I absolutely hate this stuff. My best bet at this point seems to be "modifying" my major with something else. This way I wouldn't have to take any more CS classes, and could still graduate on time.

I'm finding that I'm really interested in the mathematical (less experimental) side of physics. Due to the previous classes I've taken, I would be able to modify with math but not physics. The plan would then be to destroy the GRE and try to get into graduate school for math. Then I could maybe find my way over to the physics side of math.

I know this is going to be a stretch, but do you think that it's doable?

I feel like teaching is right for me. However, I'm not all that great at mediating the social scene, and I think I would be better at inspiring and helping students on a personal level. I also feel like my teaching style might differ from what is expected at a public school. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem feasible to make a living solely as a private tutor. What are some other jobs that might supplement being a private tutor nicely?

All I want in life is a little house with a garden where I can meditate. Maybe near a forest to take hikes, and a pond to go fishing. Essentially, I want to skip all the "life" stuff and just go to being an old retired man haha. What are some careers that could support this type of lifestyle?

I'm very smart and good with people. I just can't stand the thought of an office. There are a few outdoorsy jobs that sound nice, but they require degrees in things like forestry.

I love learning things. I basically do nothing but read and think. When it comes to gaining information on my own time, I work my *** off like it's nobody's business. However, when I have to do work for school (I'm a college junior), especially if the work has to do with writing something formally, I totally freeze and procrastinate. This has left me with a mediocre B+ GPA. I know that I would be great in any career that essentially allows me to be a human Google haha. I'm good with people, but I'm not good at reaching out to people. If people come to me with a question or puzzle, I will research and think until I've found a solution. I would be a professor, but there's no single subject I love enough.

I'm talking about someone with that kind of off-the-wall humor and sarcastic wit, maybe a bit eccentric as well. Perhaps a bit reclusive, but willing to branch out if it means showing others the power of a little "pure imagination". I don't really mean entrepreneur, especially since that's an extremely generic title.

I feel like I'm really good at explaining things, and making activities and learning really fun. I worked at a summer camp where I taught kids how to program in Java, which was a lot of fun and the kids loved me. I'm just afraid that I'm not the right "type" of person to do it long term. I'm not the traditionally sensitive nurturing type you would expect a teacher to be, especially for younger students. I definitely understand how to comfort someone if they're feeling down, but being sweet and mushy isn't my natural mode.

I'm currently a junior in college. I'm doing a computer science degree with a focus in computer modeling. The remainder of my course load is mostly filled with math and visual arts classes. In my free time I also design my own games with Flash for 2D and Unity for 3D. By the time I graduate I should be a more than adequate programmer, modeler, and designer. My goal is to have a decent quality game on Steam before graduating. Will these qualifications allow me to start at a game company in any capacity? If not, what do I need to be doing?

I love puzzle solving, but I hate the organizational skills required to solve puzzles in a lot of careers. What careers are out there where I get to solve puzzles in my own sporadic way? I'm already 21 and can't really choose a new major, so it might be difficult to become something like "professor".

I'm 21 and trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. I'm studying computer science, but it's so boring and I really don't want to go into that field. People keep saying "you'll probably change careers a bunch of times," which I hate because I'm extremely lazy when it comes to things I don't want to do, and looking for jobs is one of those things.

I thought comp sci would be fun because I love solving puzzles, but the major became less and less about puzzles and more and more about writing code with professional organization skills and whatnot. I hate structure and organization. I just want to sit around and think...

I feel like my purpose in life is to explore the wonders of the mind as much as possible, and to convince others to do the same through teaching. There are a few problems though. I don't know how well I would be able to deal with annoying kids if I were a high school or middle school teacher, but I also don't have a passion for any one subject enough to become a professor.

Is there some kind of job like professor, teaching in a situation where I don't have to deal with disruptive kids, but where I also don't need to get a PhD in something. Kind of like...college homeroom? lol

I took LSD (for the last time of many) several months ago, and ended with a pretty bad trip with a ton of anxiety and feeling like the universe had ripped apart. Overall the experience has actually had a positive effect on me, understanding how beautiful the universe really is. However, it's left me with an unfortunate side effect. Whenever I have a very spiritual experience, it comes along with an anxiety attack. It's almost as though my brain now confuses "wow this is so beautiful I could die" with "wow I'm actually about to die." Is this a common occurrence? Is there a way to stop it?

I think I might be asexual, but sex isn t "foreign" to me like it s described by other asexuals. I m 21 male and attracted to women...in theory. I get horny and attracted to women, though I mostly just want to see their boobs. I also have fantasies about having sex with women that I know.

However, when I m actually in a sexual situation with a woman I have no feelings whatsoever. I enjoy bjs, but only because they re like a really good massage. When a girl actually shows me her boobs they re completely non-sexual to me. I know that it has nothing to do with nerves or experience. It s almost as though the realization that sex is a real physical act turns me off completely.
