  • Paswell brand parrot pellets or crumbles?

Our birds are currently eating seed and I am wanting to change them to this brand of pellets and crumbles (you need different sizes for the different sized birds). I know you need to mix it 50 to 50 to start with until they get used to it. Figured out it would cost the same as seed diet and would be a lot better for them. I have also heard of Roudy bush but this is very expensive.

Has anyone had any experience in feeding the Paswell brand to their birds? If so did they like it?

  • What heaters do you need for an aquaponics set up for barramundi?

Hi I would like to know what sort of water heaters you need for an aquaponics set up for barrumundi in South Australia. Does anyone know how much room they need or how many fish you should keep in a certain sized space. Also can you keep other fish in with them such as gold fish or silver perch or will the barrumundi eat them?

  • Can someone tell me if kiln dried wood shavings is okay to use for rabbits bedding?

I buy these wood shavings at my local fodder store.

    http://www.rpmulching.com.au/woodshaving.html.

Iv'e heard that rabbits can get liver problems from wood shavings but I have to use them at the moment because hay here (South Australia) has mites in it due to humid conditions, and I don't like to give them hay that has been treated (with pyrethrum spray) because they will eat it and may become sick. What should I do? I've always used it for the mums in their nesting boxes before but that was a different brand which I can no longer get.

  • How many times can you breed a female dwarf lop eared rabbit healthily in her lifetime?

I have had dwarf lop eared rabbits in the past and bred them but the two females I had died when they reached five. I have read about uterine cancer but they showed no symptoms. One was fat and had one dead baby and I thought that was all she was going to have but one got stuck and she (the mum) died. The other one wasn't fat and died a day after giving birth to 4 babies, one died from diarrhoea and I successfully hand raised the other three on a milk formula from my local vet because they wanted to suck out of a bottle. But I did try them on 50 to 50 of full fat milk and strawberry yogurt, they are all females. I have got another female and a male and wish to breed them when they are old enough but I wanted to know how many times you can breed them females in a healthy way and how old should they be when I stop breeding them. Do female rabbits die at the age of five if bred or was their something wrong with them?
